BLOG TOUR: Savor You by Emily Snow

Welcome to our stop on the SAVOR YOU blog tour. I'm very excited to be part of this tour and want to be sure and thank author Emily Snow and the AWESOME Christine Estevez for letting TSK TSK What to Read join in. I've heard nothing but amazing things about Emily Snow and her DEVOURED series. The first book has been holed up on my kindle along with all the other hot contemporaries I haven't quite gotten to yet, so when I had the chance to read the first book in her spinoff series, knowing it could be a standalone, I said heck yeah, I'm up for a little rock and roll and jumped on the bandwagon. Lol.

Today we have an excerpt from the book as well as my thoughts on SAVOR YOU and a GIVEAWAY. Enjoy! Good luck and happy reading! ~ Shell

Kylie Wolfe and guitarist Wyatt McRae have been bad for each other for the last several years, but it’s impossible for them to end their toxic push and pull. Not when their attraction is constantly fueled by lust and proximity—she’s her older brother’s Lucas’s assistant and Wyatt is his best friend and band mate.
So when Your Toxic Sequel makes a move to record a new album in Nashville, Kylie decides to make the latest break with Wyatt official by getting the hell out of town. She’ll spend a week in New Orleans. A week to immerse herself in the Mardi Gras scene. One week to not think about the last time she was in New Orleans, seven years ago with Wyatt. Seven days where she won’t have to see Wyatt every day just to fall ridiculously in love with him all over again—where, if she wants to, she can have a normal, no- strings attached fling that won’t end in heartbreak.
Too bad Wyatt ruins everything by showing up, as gorgeous and demanding and goddamn awful for her as ever.  Wyatt refuses to let Kylie give up on him. Not without reminding her why they both fell so far and hard in the first place. Not without making her savor the good memories and what could be their last chance with each other.

Note: This is a spinoff from the Devoured series.

“So, you’re Lucas-Fucking-Wolfe’s baby sister?” Terra slides into the seat meant for Heidi.
I give her a polite smile. “Unfortunately.”
“I met him once. In”—Terra darts her green eyes upward, trying to recall the exact location and then she lowers her gaze, grinning—“2010.”
“At your high school graduation party?” I mean to keep that to myself, but somehow it slips out. She’s obviously not offended because she throws her head back and laughs.
“Rock Fest. But I’m pretty sure I’m older than Lucas and Wyatt.”
She says Wyatt’s name the same way she had at the door—with that desperate hush of admiration mixed with desire. I glide my tongue side to side between my teeth. Plenty of women are attracted to Wyatt McCrae. There’s no reason whatsoever for me to have a negative reaction to this particular one just because she can appreciate a sexy, talented man.
Heidi’s hand reaches down over my shoulder, plunking a Corona with lime down in front of me. “Here you go, love.” I glance back at her just in time to see her give Terra a long look that’s one part curious and the other part aggressive. “Sorry, did you want me to grab you something, too?”
Sliding out of Heidi’s chair, Terra shakes her head. Her mane of blonde hair flies around her face like a slow motion shampoo commercial. “I’ve got”—she flicks her green eyes toward the stage—“band stuff to do, but I’ll catch up with you bitches later.” She winks again. Somehow, Heidi holds in her snort until she’s out of earshot.
“She’s cute.” Heidi takes a swig of her banana bread-flavored beer. I wrinkle my nose up at the bottle. “Bet she gets them a bunch of gigs.”
“Maybe.” I focus my gaze back to the stage. The band has changed songs, and now

they’re playing a metal version of Heart’s Crazy On You that literally gives me the chills.

It’s a feeling that very few bands have been able to bring out in me, and I’ve got a

good feeling about Hazard Anthem’s future. “They could probably be managed by a

fucking ogre and still hit it big.”

Emily Snow is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the erotic romance series Devoured, which includes Devoured, All Over You, and Consumed, as well as the new adult novel Tidal. She loves books, sexy bad boys, and really loud rock music, so naturally, she writes stories about all three.

I'm really loving the Contemporary genre these days. Don't get me wrong- I still love my paranormal romance, but there's something about meeting characters that are just as- or more messed up than you and I'm a sucker for the HEA. Unfortunately the HEA doesn't always happen and when you meet Kylie and Wyatt you wonder if it ever will.
I haven't read Emily's DEVOURED series yet, for which this is a spinoff, but as you begin SAVOR YOU it's clear these two have off the charts chemistry- and a tainted history, so I was immediately curious as to why they can't seem get it together and what keeps pulling them apart.
What indeed. Kylie's voice drew me in right away. Heartbroken and worn out over the ups and downs of her relationship with the hot, HOT bassist she can never quite get away or get over him. He's a part of her everyday life and regardless the pain she can't stop loving him. Going by the short flashback in the prologue I could only get a small glimpse into what made things so hard for Kylie and Wyatt. He was the typical rock star but he seemed to really care for her, and boy do the sparks fly between them. They seemed to have a "break up to make up" kind of love affair. He's the love of her life but angry, heated and mind blowing romps in bed, leave Kylie feeling this is nothing but lust and familiarity for Wyatt. Wyatt wants nothing more than to prove her wrong and win her back for good.
On the surface, with their inability to communicate it seems doomed from the start. But there's so much more under the surface and as the story unfolds we see why Kylie tortures herself and Wyatt. At first I didn't see why she had so many questions and aversions to Wyatt's pursuit, but as I learned more about the two of them, I began to understand and sympathize with Kylie. And Wyatt. Like the other members of her brother's band and her best friends, I wanted to see them get past the obstacles and really come together. There are times it seems an impossibility, but their mutual pull is so undeniable it's hard to imagine either of them with someone else. It's painful watching this dance not knowing where Wyatt will end up laying his hat. So what do you do? Read faster.
I DEVOURED this little number (pun somewhat intended). Kylie and Wyatt were electric together whether they were battling or in the throes of passion. I loved Kylie and had it bad for Wyatt. Dude! He's a hot bass player in a HUGE rock band. And I loved how it all revolved around the music, Wyatt's band and their tumultuous beginnings. It's a world I'm familiar and comfortable with, and I had no trouble falling under Your Toxic Sequel and Emily's spell.
SAVOR YOU is an emotionally intense rollercoaster with a plethora of missteps, misunderstandings, music and musings. Basically it's everything you hope for in a rock and rock love story where the music and the lifestyle can ever be the life or death of an epic love affair.
So does the music bring them together or ultimately tear them apart? Does Kylie finally get from Wyatt what's she been holding out for? Can Wyatt convince Kylie she's all he needs or wants? Or is this a soundtrack for absolute disaster? Well if you really want to know, I suggest you pick up SAVOR YOU immediately and get lost in Kylie's complicated and seductive world.
Myself, I'm ready for the sequel but while I wait impatiently, I've downloaded the entire DEVOURED series and diving right in. I'm eager to see more of Kylie, Wyatt and Your Toxic Sequel's beginnings, and find out more about Kylie's brother, Lucas. Yep. The (of course) hot and talented front man for YTS. Like SAVOR YOU, it's sure to be another fangirl dream inducing rock and roll fantasy.
