TSK TSK: Welcome everyone!! We are super excited today to have the one and only Fisher Amelie here with us...AND...she was so kind to answer a few questions of ours too...So, thank you Fisher and WELCOME!!!
Fisher: Thank you so much for having me!!!!

TSK TSK:  It is soooo our pleasure!!! So, What is your typical day like?
Fisher: My typical day is chaotic but fun…yeah, that’s it. ;)
I wake, usually around seven in the morning and feed my littlest guy, bathe him and dress him. By that time, my other little guy is up and ready to eat and he gets the same shebaggle. I let the baby play for an hour or so while the bigger minion finishes his academic exercises. (Which earns him a squinkie!) Okay, then they all play together, hopefully sans drama, and I do a load or two of laundry and clean up the hizzity, which I have to do because minion two likes to eat anything that can fit in his mouth especially if it’s on the floor. So, in other words, vacuuming is a matter of life and death!! Moving on, I make lunch for said minions as well as fill my own hollow belly because, by this time, I’m the equivalent of Oscar the Grouch. Speaking of Oscar, I let the minions watch an hour of OLD SCHOOL Sesame. I’d like to reiterate that’s the Old School version because the new school version stinks like rotten potatoes. Anyway, I use this time to respond to FB, Twitter and E-mail stuff.
Then it’s naptime for minion two! Minion one and I swim or play in the backyard while the little one sleeps. The hubs works from home so he can come get us when the second one wakes. By this time it’s, like, one pm or so. Anyway, that’s when the hubs and I usually switch. He wraps up his stuff for a while and I go to my secret quiet place in my mind and in my house and live out the fantasies that wreck my brain at what seems like every minute of the day. I write for a few hours and then we switch again, mostly so he can answer any urgent emails, etc. We usually cook dinner together or get take-out. Let’s face it; we eat out a lot, authors. Am I right? Then, when the house is calm and my favorite part of the day has commenced. i.e. Bed time!!!!! *Cue the band* I go back to writing. I write until probably two in the morning before I fall asleep at my computer. And the next day, I do it all over again. ;)

TSK TSK:  OH WOW!!! well, do you have a writing routine?
Fisher: Before I had kids, I liked to write when the mood struck which was pretty much always but now? Kids force me in a writing routine. So, to answer your question. Yes.

TSK TSK:  I see you have playlists for your books.. Who would you say music wise is the most inspirational in your writing?
Fisher: Oh my word! This is a loaded question. I listen to literally an incredible assortment of music from classical to alternative but if I were to name specific bands? Right now it’s Florence, Muse and Imagine Dragons.

TSK TSK:  Out of all of your books, who would you say was the easiest to write? The hardest? The most fun?
Fisher: Easiest to write was Sophie from VAIN. Strange, I know, but I consider myself much like Sophie after LA. I’m constantly humbled by amazing people and it was easy for me to respond to the world and people around her because the way she reacted is spot on to how I would react. The hardest character I’ve ever had to write was Ian from VAIN. Not because he wasn’t glorious but because I have difficulty writing males apparently. I mean, I enjoy writing them but many of my readers mention how effeminate most of my male MC’s are and how they are a bit turned off. LOL! So, with VAIN I tried really hard to write it the way I thought a male should act but also with believability. I’d like to say I pulled it off because I got no complaints this go ‘round. LMAO! The most fun to write was Cherry and Charlie from Callum & Harper. They were so daring and adventurous and beautiful and cheeky and witty. Ugh! I just love them!

TSK TSK: SQUEEE!!!! I looooove Callum!! AND Sophie?? AWESOME!!! Now...If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Fisher: Anywhere I’ve never been! Before I die, I want to see it all!!!

TSK TSK:  What is your favorite holiday?
Fisher: Oh, by far and away, Christmas! I love the chill, the smell of the crisp air, how kind and cheerful everyone is but mostly because it’s a time for family and oh my word how I love my family. We’re big and boisterous and loud and funny. They are my favorite people.

TSK TSK:  I love Christmas too.... :D When writing, what type of research do you do for your stories? How much time do you devote to it?
Fisher: Boy do I research a book. I mean, I spent months researching VAIN. I read countless books, watched countless films, interviewed countless individuals. It was tedious but oh so worth it. P.s. to all those who doubt the facts in VAIN. Trust me, it’s all real. All of it.

TSK TSK:  What is your favorite type of food?
Fisher: I love French food. It is so freaking delicious! When I was in Paris, I swear all I did was eat. It’s so fresh and perfect. And the desserts!!!!

TSK TSK: Mmmm..now I am starving...
We want to say thank you again to Fisher for taking time out of her busy schedule to answer our questions...It was AWESOME getting to know her more!!!

Life sucks for orphans Callum Tate and Harper Bailey. Kicked out of their foster homes because they suffer the 'eighteen disease' with nothing but a hundred dollar check from the government and a pat on the back, they're forced to rely on a system that failed them miserably.
So they sit. They sit inside Social Services, waiting for their social workers to call their names and offer them the miracle they know will never come but they sit anyway because they have nowhere else to go, no other options on their very literal and figurative empty plates.
But as they sit, they notice the other. Although captivated, they each come to the conclusion that life is complicated enough without throwing in a boiling tension that can't ever be acted upon because they're both too busy thinking about where their next meal will come from but when their names are called and both are placed on a year long waiting list for permanent housing, suddenly relying on each other seems like a very viable plan B.
And, oh, how lovely Plan B's can be.
Well, except for the psycho from Harper's past that haunts her and, oh, yeah, there's the little issue that neither of them knows they're in love with the other.
Needless to say, Callum & Harper's life just got a bit more complicated.

“One day, you and I are gonna’ wake up and be alright. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but one day. One day. I promise you.” - Callum Tate

Fisher Amelie is the author of The Leaving Series, Callum & Harper and Thomas & January. She began her writing career as a copywriter for an internet marketing company wherein one of their client's said, 'Hey! You're funny. You should write books'. Which in turn she said, 'Hey, get out of here! This is the lady's restroom.' While washing her hands and the embarrassment from her face, she thought they may have had a valid point. So, she took the thousands of hours of writing stories growing up, tucked them into her pocket and began writing and writing and writing.

I am going to start by saying I should be kicking myself in the rear for not reading this book sooner.  After meeting Fisher last year at the Decatur Book Festival, I bought a copy of Callum & Harper with so many intentions.  Of course, I got bogged down with so many other needs...Grrrr....I'm not complaining, but man...I missed out on some wonderful beauty with this book for too long.
But, now I have read and absorbed the awesomeness of Callum & Harper.  AND boy is this book out of this world GREAT!!!
Right off the bat we meet two fresh out of high school teens that thanks to the craziness of the foster care system are now on their own.....AND homeless.  What fate it is that these two meet and in turn become each others life preserve.
I was blown away at what they had to go through day in and day out.  Not only that, the series of unfortunate events that seemed to follow them their lives.  I was like...Are they ever gonna catch a break??
But no matter the travesty, these two people have a fire and spark in them that knows no bounds.  With support of friends, that really become their family, you see Callum & Harper as role models for the pure souls they have.
I physically felt their pain, their joys, their heartaches, and their successes.  With dualing POVs of Callum & Harper you were truly able to find yourself wrapped up in their journey....experiencing everything just as they did.  Falling in love with Callum...(YEP, NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND!!!!), cheering for better days, hoping for the HEA....These are things that holds you captivated page after page...
Callum & Harper is a book that I believe EVERYONE should read.  It is an AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL story that will forever be a piece of your heart....

So...today...We are giving away a
SIGNED copy of Callum & Harper...
BELIEVE us...This is a book you want sitting on your shelf...(after you have read it several hundred times...)
