BLOG TOUR: RICOCHET by Keri Lake

Welcome to our stop on the RICOCHET Blog Tour. While the post may look familiar, we've added Shell's REVIEW. The GIVEAWAYS are still in effect so be sure to get entered- time is running out. If you like your romance dark and dirty... this book is for YOU...

Title: Ricochet
Author: Keri Lake
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: July 9, 2015

The only sure way to destroy a man is to take what he cannot live without.

Three years ago, I had everything.

A beautiful wife.

A son.

A reason for living.

Until a ruthless task force, assembled under Mayor Michael Culling, with a brutal strategy to make the streets of Detroit ‘safe’, ripped away everything I loved in a deadly hunt called The Culling.

They tried to kill me, too. I wish they had. Now I'm cursed by the memories of that night, and the words I whispered to my dying wife.

A promise—to avenge the wrong and set it right.

I’m no longer Nick Ryder. I’m a masked vigilante. Faceless. Loveless. Fearless. A man with nothing left to lose—one who's seen the dark and violent truth behind the city’s flawless veneer.

Michael Culling doesn’t know who I am. Or what I want. All he knows is that I’ve kidnapped his beautiful wife.

An eye for an eye—isn’t that how the saying goes? And Aubree Culling is the perfect pawn to destroy him.

If she doesn’t destroy me first.

"This book is what would result if The Punisher and V for Vendetta ever had a baby. A super fucked up but incredibly awesome baby." ~ Dirty Girl Romance
"Holy. Fucking. Hell. Mind is blown and I'm left reeling. I've pulled myself together and can now write the review this book deserves." ~ Sam's Ramblings
"Ricochet was my first foray into the world of Keri Lake and if I could describe her writing style based on this alone, the words Evil Genius come to mind. " ~ Smokin' Hot Book Blog

Keri Lake is a married mother of two living in Michigan. By day, she tries to make use of the degrees she’s earned in science. By night, she writes dark contemporary and paranormal romance. Though novels tend to be her focus, she also writes short stories and flash fiction on the many occasions when distraction sucks her in to the Land of Shiny Things.

She loves hearing from readers

*4.75 flames. I had a couple of small issues, otherwise this story is near perfect.*

Wow. This is one effed up story. I felt so many emotions. I flinched and cringed as violent words described violent acts, and as the tale intensified, the pages flew. Nick had me enthralled. He completely mesmerized me. To see a man hanging on the edge of his humanity and sanity... was disturbing and fascinating. He captured more than my attention.
And the other captive... I loved Aubree. She was fierce and believable. And frankly, refreshing. She showed a strength few could fake and endured more pain and suffering at the hands of a delusional, and sick man. How she survived her day to day life was a story in itself. I admired her and feared for her.
And when these two collide... HOLY S***!
RICOCHET may be one of the darkest stories I've read in the romance genre. And while it is a dark romance, RICOCHET isn't just about Nick and Aubree. Of course they are our central focus, but this is a well rounded story filled with the good, the bad, and the ugly. The most despicable of our society. The abused, the depaved, the broken tortured souls that seem to slip through the cracks and yet are right before our eyes. It's not pretty but it's beautiful at its darkest. Profound at its ugliest. It's thought provoking and mindbending, and absolutely heartbreaking...
At moments you feel your heart splayed open and your soul flayed. At others- your heart flies, you feel hopeful and excited, certain there could be a HEA, even for these two most broken of humans.
RICOCHET is a maddening- at times offensive, provocative, and poignant tale that will leave you wanting more. It's a rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to end. And I'd buy a ticket to ride, over and over again.
