BLOG TOUR: AnguiSH by Lila Felix

Anguish was the status quo, until she walked in.
Breaker James Collins is confined in a prison of his own making. Scarred doesn’t begin to define his hell since finding out his girlfriend cheated, stole, and lied two years ago. It led to a single event—one that would blacken his days and his nights from then on. Since then, he hasn’t left his house, crippled by fear of people and any social interaction.

Ashland talks too much and has the voice of a meth-laden prairie dog, or so she’s always been told. She’s been called annoying and irritating all of her life and gave up on having friends for a long time. College has given her a new lease on a social life and she’s embraced who she is. But now she’s waiting for the one guy who can take her breath away and put up with her antics.

A simple note pinned to a corkboard will lead Ash right to Breaker’s solitary world and she will learn that just because a guy doesn’t fit her ideal, doesn’t mean she won’t fall head over feet in love.

Lila Felix made the decision to write a book after being encouraged by friends. She is a stay at home mom to three wild children and three boisterous dogs. Between writing books she loves read and watch sappy 80's movies. Favorite things: ice cream, anything purple, roller derby and any kind of music she can get her hands on. If you're looking for her, try looking under Cypress trees in the swamps of Louisiana.
I am just going to start this by saying that Lila Felix is BRILLIANT!!! I mean everything she writes is a can't put it down, glued to the pages kind of story.... completely immersing you in to the tale of the people that she brought in to your life with the genius and heart that will twist you up!!
The talent she wields is amazing in which she can connect you to the story, emotionally bring you in to where there is absolutely no going back.  Quite frankly, you don't want to go back.  Once you experience it...nothing can top it...
So, with that said...I think you can tell that AnguiSH is going to be a phenomenal book...By my standards alone...It sits high up in the rankings of some fabulous books.
I truly love how AnguiSH is not your typical alpha male "me man, you girl" kind of book.  And not to say that those kind of books are bad...and that they don't have a strong heroine...it is just that this book does it RIGHT!!
I mean, we meet Breaker and with what he is dealing with in his life you can find the sympathy.  He is such a great guy.  Puts others before himself, heart of gold, sweet guy....and then there is THAT girl that ruins it...yeah...we know what kind of girl she is....And this is it...He is shattered....
But his trauma goes further than what most people experience...and that is where this story really latches on to you....you feel his pain and....as the title says....his anguish...
Deciding to just give up on the world...he confines himself to staying away from everyone....only a few people visit him and he is just fine with that...
Well thank goodness his mom isn't...and here is where the story turns...
In walks Ash... Ahhhh....she is really the strong heroine that we should read about.  WOW!! The dynamic of this character....even Breaker is marvelous....
The relationship that these two build is slow....it grows from friendship with loyalty, honesty, and trust that is earned in to love that blossoms.  It is a true romantic story that two young people were the hope and strength that the other needed.
But with both having their own problems....things didn't always work right and with one secret held from the other, things began to crumble....
I held my breath, hoping for all to work out....Would they recover what was broken? Would they move forward?
Get AnguiSH and discover for yourself why I think this is one of the best reads of the year.  Lila Felix created a beautiful story filled with humor, passion, and gut-wrenching angst....Yeah...best kind of stories out there... :D
