I was born in South Africa, raised in Dublin, Ireland and moved to Cork in my 20’s. While living in beautiful Kinsale, Co Cork I discovered a love of writing. I write mainly for the young adult market. My current book, The Carrier of the Mark, prompted me to abandon my ‘riveting’ career in corporate treasury and have been writing ever since. I have another three books in the Carrier series and a few other projects I'm working on. My family and I now share our time between Ireland and the US.

Wow! This book seriously blew me away. From the very beginning I was clutching my hand against my heart, biting my nails, and holding my breath. Leigh wastes no time throwing us back into the drama and heartache of Carrier as we pick up right where we left off.

I'm not going to go into ANY of the storyline. There is just so much that happens, it momentarily boggles the mind, sets you on edge, gasping for air and praying that there is some solution to Meg and Adam's forbidden but ever growing love, and a way to stop or change that god awful Marked prophecy. Honestly, things don't look good in regards to either dilemma, but that doesn't stop or discourage (for long) our beautiful Marked Ones. Oh, no, no, no. They are more determined than ever to change their fate and find a way to be together- forever.

The things that transpire knock you for a loop and set you reeling, as more and more is uncovered, discovered, and thrown at our gifted crew. It's a sweet torture as it keeps you completely engaged anticipating what comes next. Any surprises? Heck yeah. So many times I didn't see what was coming. Several times I was shocked- and concerned that something I didn't want was going to happen. And sometimes, to my dismay, it did.
This story is a testament to the law of unintended consequences. For every action (or inaction), Megan found herself in more complicated- and some dire circumstances. Questioning again and again if she was making the right choices, handling her gift as she should, putting her faith in the right people. The suspense of waiting for affects of those decisions and doubts really drives the story. You question everything- and everyone right along with Megan. You're buried in emotion, suspicion and desperation. You wonder how this could possibly end in her favor.

So what does it all mean? Is there a possibility that Megan, Adam, Rían and Áine can succeed and complete the alignment? Will Megan and Adam find a way to truly be together? What will happen to the Order? Even Megan's dad and his happiness come into question. What the heck does Leigh have in store for us next round? One thing I can tell you is you will not guess who or what will attempt to take them down, steal their powers, and end the world as they know it.

While I LOVE the original characters from Carrier, Leigh introduces some very intriguing members to the Shadow cast. And boy do they make things exciting. Some you will love, love to hate, and some... well, you might not know what to think or believe. All of them are key to the story where we learn more of not only the Marked Ones history, but also the Order, the Knights and the Knox. I'm telling you, this installment is chock full of information and action. And romance? Oh yeah! But again, nothing is easy or without consequence and sometimes the results are devastating.

So where are we left? Does everyone make it through? Do Megan and Adam remain together through it all? Well, you know I'm not spilling any of that for you. What I will tell you- again, you won't see what hits you. You'll be shocked, rocked and shaken to your core. And just when you think there might be a resolution and some peace...hello cliffhanger!!!

My advice? Get your hands on your own copy asap. Strap yourself in with tissues and some comfort food, and hang on for dear life. You're in for one helluva ride.
