BLOG TOUR: My Not so Super Sweet Life by Rachel Harris

We are so totally stoked to have a stop on the tour for MY NOT SO SUPER SWEET LIFE. Everyone has been anxiously awaiting the final installment of Rachel Harris' My Super Sweet Life trilogy, and I'm happy to say it was A-MAY-ZING. Was there really any doubt?
We've got an excerpt for you, and a great GIVEAWAY. Wanna know a bit more- check out my (as always) non-spoiler review.
Enjoy! ~Shell

Thank you to Jamie and Rachel of Rockstar Book Tours for hosting this tour.

Cat Crawford just wants to be normal—or at least as normal as a daughter of Hollywood royalty can be. And it looks like fate is granting her wish: she’s got an amazing boyfriend, Lucas; her fabulous cousin, Alessandra, living with her; and her dad planning his second marriage to a great future stepmom. That is, until her prodigal mother reveals on national television that she has something important to tell her daughter…causing a media frenzy.
Lucas Capelli knows his fate is to be with Cat, and he’s worked hard to win her over once and for all. Unfortunately, Lucas has his own issues to deal with, including a scandal that could take him away from the first place he’s truly belonged.
As secrets are revealed, rumors explode, and the world watches, Cat and Lucas discover it’s not fate they have to fight if they want to stay together…this time, it’s their own insecurities.
Well, and the stalkerazzi.

“Cat.” Lucas whispers my name like it’s precious. Like I’m worth something. And I so badly want to believe it. His blond curls catch in the breeze, gliding over the tanned skin on his forehead, and my fingers itch to tame them. To capture the silky locks and gently tug. He grins as if he can read my thoughts, and warmth floods my body, pooling in my stomach. Picking me up, Lucas lays me on a blanket of soft sand and says, “You have no idea what you do to me.”
But I think I do. And that’s what makes my head so wonderfully fuzzy.
That look is back in his eyes. Still smoldering, but soft now, too. The hint that his feelings are real…and deep. Before he can see the tears welling in mine, still unsure I deserve any of it, I clamp them shut and tug his head down.
“Make me forget,” I beg him. It’s a big step, admitting what I need, but this is Lucas. I know I’m safe. “I just want to forget everything but us right now.”
His hand curls around the side of my face, tilting my chin as his thumb skims my throat. But he doesn’t kiss me. He hovers, breathing me in until I reluctantly open my eyes. His gaze tracks over my face.
“We’re all that matters.” Our lips touch with each word he speaks, his stare so intense that I know he can see straight through to my soul.
Too many emotions clog my throat to reply, so I nod. Right now, we’re everything.
Lucas brushes his nose along mine, and my eyelids flutter. The last thing I see before they close completely is the dimple flashing in his cheek. Then his lips press into mine in a kiss meant to make the world fade away.
And it delivers.
Fingernails rake down my back, bringing a shiver. A low growl sounds in his throat, and I want to climb into his skin. Cologne, bodywash, something uniquely him fills my head, and when his tongue flicks out, licking the seam of my lips, I open eagerly, greedy for more.
The air around us is electric. Humming, vibrating, and heated, weighted with lust, desire, and even love. Yep, love. I’m falling for this boy, and that scares the crap out of me. But I can’t give him up. I don’t want to give him up.
When Lucas kisses me, nothing else matters. Time doesn’t exist, our pasts don’t matter, and my heart is unscathed. With every delicious nibble and each tender touch, he mends another broken shard, making me believe that one day I really can be normal. I trap his bottom lip between my teeth, and he groans, sinking his weight against me. Wrapping my arms around his back, I grip his shoulders so tight our bodies meld together. I never want him to stop.

As a teen, Rachel Harris threw raging parties that shook her parents’ walls and created embarrassing fodder for future YA novels. As an adult, she reads and writes obsessively, rehashes said embarrassing fodder, and dreams up characters who become her own grown up version of imaginary friends.
She grew up in New Orleans, watching soap operas with her grandmother and staying up late sneak reading her mam's favorite romance novels. Now a Cajun cowgirl living in Houston, she still stays up too late reading her favorite romances, only now, she can do so openly. She firmly believes life's problems can be solved with a hot, powdered-sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations.
She homeschools her two beautiful girls and loves watching reality television with her amazing husband. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult Fun, Flirty Escapes, and LOVES talking with readers!

Writing this review is a bit like reading this book. Bittersweet. Rachel has taken us on a most amazing journey, and it breaks my heart to say goodbye to these fun, fantastic characters. Each book has given us someone new to love- and fall in love with. Each book has let us watch Cat grow and take chances. And I think it's her growth, her coming into her own, beginning to believe in herself, that makes this final installment so sweet.
But believe me, it's not all unicorns and faeries. Amongst the glitz and glam in the Hollywood spotlight, there are twists and turns; unbelievable appearances and shocking revelations; tests of strength and willpower; dirty dealing and scheming. Plenty to keep you fired up and rooting for Cat. And speaking of fired up...
Rachel Harris never disappoints in the romance department. We get lots of swoony Lucas, especially since we get his POV as well. A first for this series, and such a thrill. I think he pushed Rachel out of her comfort zone with his protective nature. And while things aren't always easy between he and Cat, there are such special moments that will melt your heart and curl your toes. But that's not all...
Love really is the core of this tale. Cat learns there are different kinds of love. And all kinds of family. And it's here, in the middle of the chaos and confusion, where we see her truly shine.
MY NOT SO SUPER SWEET LIFE is the must read conclusion to an epic tale of embracing your destiny and following your heart. It has been a wonderful fairytale and a great romantic comedy. Cat and Lessa- and Luke pulled at my heartstrings to the very end. And honestly, I'm not ready to let them go.
So...
Reyna, epic destiny weaving babe, what can you do about getting us a spinoff? Just putting it out in the blogosphere, Rachel. *prays to book gods*
I want to say a extra special thank you to Rachel for allowing me to name a character for this book by winning one of the many contests she holds for her readers. I'm so thrilled and absolutely LOVE him. I hope you all do too.
For now, MY NOT SO SUPER SWEET LIFE is only available in eBook form, but don't let that stop you print gals from reading this one. You'll really be missing out. MNSSSL was exciting and and super fun.
