Road to Hell Blog Tour

TSK TSK What to Read is excited to be hosting this tour of such a great author, Gracen Miller....And since it is June 11th, we are ready to KICK IT OFF!!

So, we at TSK TSK thought, hmmmm....what can we do to get the ball rolling and introduce the Road to Hell series to everyone???  Well, we thought we would give you all reasons on why you should read the Road to Hell series...So, sit back, take a load off, and follow along as we give our reasons on why you, a valued reader, should read this FANTASTIC series!!

Reasons to Read
the
Road to Hell series

Kathryn's Reasons to read RTH

So, need a push in to why you should read this series... Well...

First...right now, the paranormal genre is swamped with stories that are cookie cutter... Well, RTH, has a refreshingly new, unique story line that isn't afraid to push the boundaries and envelop the reader in a world that is wicked, dark, and jammed pack with drama....

Second... How about a strong badass heroine!!! I love reading about a woman who grows throughout her trials, overcomes her weaknesses, and learns to rely on her instincts because this is what is going to keep her and her loved ones safe and protected...

Third...ahhh yes... On to the steamy part of the series... The HOT men... And let me tell you... They are swoon worthy!!! We will start with our King of Hell, Micah... Shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes..strong, assertive, never backs down, cocky, and just down right oozes sex...
Next we have our Sherlock, fighter of demons, Nix... Short dark blonde hair, green eyes, damn good fighter, loyal, and of course ruggedly handsome with a charisma to die for... And then there is our elusive immortal Zen... Dark brown hair, stunning silver eyes, gorgeous beyond all reason, and our keeper of balance...but... This isn't all of the HOT men in the Road to Hell series... You are going to have to read to find out more...

Fourth...this reason is going to be more personal...The Road to Hell series has become such a pivotal aspect in my life.  It is not just a series anymore, it is a family of readers known as hellhounds that genuinely LOVE this series, LOVE Gracen, LOVE the characters, and LOVE interacting/discussing all of the great things that has happened in the books or trying to guess what is going to happen in upcoming books.  When you join us on the Road to Hell, we are a fun, wicked, loyal, and down right naughty group to be a part of...

Shelley's Reasons YOU should read the Road to Hell series...starting TONIGHT!
1. A heroine you can get behind. We meet Madsion as a sweet, beautiful, naive and troubled teenager and watch her bloom and grow into a fierce Momma and kick ass, not to be taken for granted, fine tuned evil obliterating machine. Madison is someone you want to have your back. And someone you don't want hunting you down.
She's also a real woman with everyday problems we can all relate to. She's smart, resourceful and she never, ever gives up, even if she loses her way.

2. Not just one HAWT leading man! This series is jam packed with the hottest men in fiction right now, and they range in looks; from Hollywood gorgeous, bad boy rugged, model perfection and other world grace, race; human Sherlocks, Fallen Angels, un-namable immortals and then some, and they each bring their own kind of POWER...KA-POW! They also differ greatly in personality making each of them SOOO interesting and enthralling...HAWT! HAWT! HAWT!
3. Ok, I told you about the hawt men, did I mention the scorching sex? This ain't your momma's romance novel. Never gratuitous but always emotional and intense. Sweet, steamy and all out; can't get enough of you-ravaging-what fantasies are made of-my god, did someone turn up the heat-damn, baby...wow! Sorry, I lost myself for a moment there. If these scenes don't leave you hot and bothered...girlfriend, there's something wrong with you. It's electrifying.
4. Progression and no holds barred action. All of these characters grow and evolve with each installment. Is it always for the better...HELL NO! But that makes it all the more interesting. The changes they go through and sacrifices they make, alter them in surprising and unimaginable ways. Some will shock you and some will amaze you. Throughout the series there are major one on one power struggles and epic battles. Gracen brings it on full force. No one is safe or off limits and the whole world could end at any given moment. This is good vs evil like you've never read before.

So, have we enticed you enough?? Well, if you are still questioning yourself...over the next 15 days, please visit the following blogs and see interviews with Gracen, character interviews, reviews, and excerpts from the books...

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

The demon Lilith has been destroyed and Jace has been freed from her captivity. But when the Shadowhunters arrive to rescue him, they find only blood and broken glass. Not only is the boy Clary loves missing–but so is the boy she hates, Sebastian, the son of her father Valentine: a son determined to succeed where their father failed, and bring the Shadowhunters to their knees.

No magic the Clave can summon can locate either boy, but Jace cannot stay away—not from Clary. When they meet again Clary discovers the horror Lilith’s dying magic has wrought—Jace is no longer the boy she loved. He and Sebastian are now bound to each other, and Jace has become what he most feared: a true servant of Valentine’s evil. The Clave is determined to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. Will the Shadowhunters hesitate to kill one of their own?

Only a small band of Clary and Jace’s friends and family believe that Jace can still be saved — and that the fate of the Shadowhunters’ future may hinge on that salvation. They must defy the Clave and strike out on their own. Alec, Magnus, Simon and Isabelle must work together to save Jace: bargaining with the sinister Faerie Queen, contemplating deals with demons, and turning at last to the Iron Sisters, the reclusive and merciless weapons makers for the Shadowhunters, who tell them that no weapon on this earth can sever the bond between Sebastian and Jace. Their only chance of cutting Jace free is to challenge Heaven and Hell — a risk that could claim any, or all, of their lives.

And they must do it without Clary. For Clary has gone into the heart of darkness, to play a dangerous game utterly alone. The price of losing the game is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she even still trust him? Or is he truly lost? What price is too high to pay, even for love?

Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

Kathryn's Review
City of Lost Souls...
Now the 5th installment in the Mortal Instruments series, we are so deep in to the Shadowhunter world, that, as always, you are captivated all the way through the book....
In the beginning, CoLS moved slow for me, but around page 100, it picked up and WOW... You are thrown in to so much... With storyline of Alec and Magnus, Izzy and Simon, Jordan and Maia, and of course my favorite.... Jace and Clary...there is never a dull moment. You are hanging on the edge of a cliff with anticipation to find out what is going to happen to these characters that you have invested so much time in, that have become an intricate part of you life...
I have to say, I was in knots throughout most of the book and as I wanted to get to the end to ease my tension, I hated when I turned to the final page...
But, Cassie didn't leave us with a major cliffhanger this time.. Don't get me wrong, she definitely leaves you dying for the next installment, but at least we aren't pulling our hair out, knowing we have at least a year to wait...actually two years...ARGH!!! Anyway, I was surprised by some of the actions taken by some of the key players.  Heck, I was even rooting for the bad guy some, and holding my breath with scenes that emotionally ripped at me...
Needless to say, I loved this book... There are so many changes within this book, that even as I am writing this, I feel like I can't even truly express all that I feel for it...
The Mortal Instruments is such a great series.... One, in which, you fall in love with from book one and it never waivers...
Shelley's Review
I have a true love/hate relationship with Cassie. She has a gift for creating the most intense and frustrating relationships. A flare for the dramatic, whether it's a battle scene or a lovers spat, both are just as engaging, building your hopes and dreams...and squashing them just as quickly, making you fall in love, all over again...and more so, tearing your heart out, serving it to you on a platter and yet leaving you begging for more. It's the most beautiful torture. To say she creates suspense would be a gross understatement. I was on the edge of my seat, tightly clutching the pages (trying not to damage my beautiful book), hanging on every single word. I was completely captivated. And this installment isn't even my favorite. That's still #2.
Regardless, there were so many things I loved about CoLS. There's more Malec, more Jace of course, more Simon (he's always great, the most amazing friend)...and Jordan and Maia...more Sebastian, but one of the things (people) I enjoyed most was Isabelle. Izzy is just completely kick ass this time around. She is anyway, but here, she opens up so much more and lets us see inside her head and heart; fear, love and what really drives her and keeps her going. I like Clary, but Izzy is the one I relate to most. Her harsh exterior and obvious beauty are nothing compared to when she bares her soul and shows her gratitude. It's remarkable.
I spent much of the book worrying about Jace. Would he survive...would he ever be the same...and what would come of Sebastian...talk about a complicated character. I still hold hope he can be redeemed, or saved, whatever the case may be. Alec and Magnus are as unpredictable as ever. I was often angry and impatient with Alec and his reactions. You get so catch up in the emotions and all that's happening, you forget how young most of our beloved characters are and what a short span of time in which all of these events have taken place. So much pain, loss, destruction and love...there is always love...for friends, family and lovers. It is the constant light at the end of a very dark tunnel. The last ray of hope.
CoLS drew me in from the beginning and held me captive to the end. Leaving me wishing I could jump in and help my wonderful friends; comfort and console them, right their wrongs, and protect them in their never ending fight against evil and those that seek to destroy them.
It was hard to say goodbye, again. I will be in mourning for another...year...2014!!???!!! God, don't make us wait that long...PLEASE!?!! This book was a work of strong, addictive magic and I am already having withdrawals.

We both give City of Lost Souls

Lethal Rider (Lords of Deliverance # 3) by Larissa Ione

They're here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell's minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday...or let it ride...

LETHAL RIDER

Thanatos, the most deadly Horseman of the Apocalypse, has endured thousands of years of celibacy to prevent the end of days. But just one night with the wickedly sexy Aegis Guardian, Regan Cooper, shatters centuries of resolve. Yet their passion comes with a price. And Thanatos must face a truth more terrifying than an apocalypse-he's about to become a father.

Demon-slayer Regan Cooper never imagined herself the maternal type, but with the fate of the world hanging in the balance she had no choice but to seduce Thanatos and bear his child. Now, as the final battle draws closer and his rage at being betrayed is overshadowed by an undeniable passion for the mother of his child, Thanatos has a life-shattering realization: To save the world, he must sacrifice the only thing he's ever wanted-a family.

Kathryn's Review
Received from Netgalley

This series is AMAZING!!  I love everything about it...ALL the characters, the storyline, it all wraps together PERFECTLY!
Lethal Rider begins where Immortal Rider leaves off.  There is so much in disarray and we are trying to find out what exactly is happening to Thanatos; One of the 4 horsemen known as Death. Thanatos always thought that he would become the evil rider when his seal was broken by him handing over his virginity...Well, lo and behold, that did not hold true.  And now we are scrambling to find out exactly everything there is that Thanatos is going to have to endure, to find out what is agimortis is, and come to terms with his feelings for Regan.  Who is Regan, you say?  She is the one that stole his heart and his virginity in a heat of passion that changed Thanatos' life from here on...
Throughout this book, we get such a deep view in to the world of Thanatos and I find myself really connecting with him over all the others.  Even though he is Death, there is so much more to him...and Regan brings all that out...But, Pestilence is determined to bring on the Apocalypse in whatever manner he can....
Lethal Rider explodes with action, betrayals, deceit, hot passion, loyalty, suspense....I mean, you just can't put it down...
Every book in this series hits you in the heart and makes you connect to each character...you are rooting for the good to win and outsmart the evil....What will happen?  Does Thanatos get to keep his family or does he lose it all??? I am not saying, but I CANNOT wait until the next book comes out...Rogue Rider...
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and series!!! :D

Time for Death by Christie Silvers

Time for Death Blog Tour
and Giveaway...

Liz Baker, a 32 year old small town bar owner, thought it would be a normal evening of sex in a cemetery with her longtime beau, until she spotted someone in the distance, and all normality in her world ceased to exist.

After several murders in her small town of Tremmel Crossing, Georgia, Liz comes to the realization that the murderer is coming after her, and he's more dangerous than any human could possibly be.

With the help of her dead mother, bar bouncer, and cemetery lover, Liz learns that the murdering vampire was sent by her biological father to claim her as his own. Only then does she discover her real parentage and underlying special powers.

However, the vampire sent to claim her has powers of his own, most importantly the power to control her mind, emotions and desires. She wants him, needs him, her entire body aches for him, but she soon finds out that she must fight back to save the lives of her friends and loved ones. Only death will release her from Marcus's powerful hold, but who will die first?

Kathryn's Review
Time for Death is a fast paced, action packed, sexy, fun read...
You are introduced to Liz Baker, bar owner in a small town in Georgia, that is care-free and lives life to the fullest... Yet, one night, while having some hot "fun" with her best friend with benefits... Her world is turned upside down and everything changes for her...
Things that she held as truths were dispelled and with this new information she has to decide what she was exactly going to do with her life...
With a jump in to the supernatural world, Liz leads us on a journey that is a joy to read and get lost in... Although, I do have to say... That after we were led up to that pinnacle moment at the end, I felt a little let down with how it ended... I know, I know, it leads us in to the next book... But there was something particular I was looking for, and it just wasn't there... Hopefully book two will enlighten me...
Great read... Pick it up and see for yourself!

Shelley's Review
Time for death has a rather unique storyline. Sure it's a vampire tale, but it's not like anything I've read before. It's very much a psychological thriller with a lot of spice.
Liz is a fun, easy going, snarky and smart heroine. I love her sass and her sailor mouth. She just doesn't mince words with anyone. She's straight up cool and well liked.
She faces the unknown head on and no holds barred with the help of her best friend/lover, Rick (love him!) and her bar's straight forward and powerful bouncer Chad.
Everything changes for the crew after a little romp in the local cemetery and Liz quickly discovers nothing is what it seemed. Her whole world is about to change...and not for the better.
This is a fun, fairly fast paced read with plenty of action, affection and wise cracking among the friends. I won't tell you anything about our vampire, other than that he's scary, erotic and not what you'd expect. He has his eyes set on Liz and has the power to get her by whatever means necessary. Circumstances require a desperate rescue and we follow Liz through the wilderness of Georgia as she races against time to save someone she loves and with any luck, defeat her mysterious and ruthless foe.
TFD had me laughing, on the verge of tears and...I'll admit it...a little freaked out at times.
While I hoped to hear more from a certain character at the story's end, Christie makes it evident things will carry on in to the second book, but twists the events in such a way that has you ready to find out what's next for Liz. I enjoyed the colorful way Christie portrays Liz and I'm curious to see where she takes us in the sequel. I have a few questions that really really need to be answered...are you listening, Christie? I. Need. To. Know. Don't leave a girl hanging...4 flames for creepiness, unexpected turns and eager anticipation for the next installment.

Christie Silvers-Author
Christie Silvers is a wife, mother, and writer of urban fantasy with a touch of naughtiness.  Creatures that go bump in the night inspire her.  From time to time those creatures turn to the saucy side of things and that's when Christie dabbles in the paranormal erotic side of writing.  She never knows what the characters will do until they're already doing it, which makes for some interesting late night writing sessions.

Christie lives in north Georgia with her husband of forever, three daughters, four dogs, nine chickens, and numerous outside cats.  Aside from reading, writing, laundry, rushing her children to a variety of school functions and trying not to have a panic attack while teaching her 15 year old to drive, Christie spends her spare time wondering when she'll actually have spare time to spare.

Where to Stalk Christie:

Other books in the Liz Baker Series:

I thought life would get back to normal after I offed Marcus. I wanted adventure, but not the kind that could kill me with the glimmer of an idea. Yeah, he was a god in bed, but what fun would that have been if I never felt my own feelings and thoughts again?
Now I'm surrounded by more monsters. I somehow knew there couldn't be just vampires in the world, but a girl can hope, can't she? Oh well, that's not how it works in the real world.
Adele's estate is gorgeous, much bigger than I'm accustomed to, and it turns out to be an excellent headquarters once Cole McIntosh--Wendigo Extraordinaire--shows up and demands my services. Hell, I don't even know how to use the powers I supposedly have and this bastard wants me to reverse a gypsy curse. It's not my problem he's a dumb ass and got himself split in two. I happen to like his better half anyway. He makes a great sandwich!
Now Rick's pissed at me, Chad's looking as smoking hot as ever, and I have a handful of staff, friends, and my new high-class lawyer helping out...but will I be ready when Cole comes knocking at the front gate?

Saddled with the knowledge that she's not only a half-vampire, but also expected to be some kind of supernatural warrior to battle evil, Liz Baker--34 year old small town bar owner--would rather life went back to normal, choosing to ignore her destiny instead.

She survived murdering a vampire lover, being possessed by a spirit of her ancestor in order to destroy a wendigo, and even finding out that her ghostly mother is in love with the attorney in charge of her newly acquired fortune. But will she survive finding out that she has eleven half-vampire brothers and sisters?

Even with Chad at her back, and an ex-military werewolf pilot giving them defensive pointers, Liz simply wants to go back to normal. What ever normal is now. How will she ever find normal again though, what with a demon haunting her waking hours and a vampire trying to pull her into his paranormal army of offspring?

Early Release for Bad Behavior by Kevin Hopson

Blurb for Early Release for Bad Behavior
Most incarcerated men dream of being free one day,
but death row inmate Jake Evans feels
differently. With prisoners suspiciously being dragged from their cells,
only to return in anguish,
Jake wants no part of the outside world.
However, when Jake's name is eventually called,
he is left with no choice. What do the perpetrators want with him,
and can he escape the fate others have already met?

Excerpt from Early Release for Bad Behavior
--A loud clanking noise echoed from the end of the corridor. Guards made their rounds on
an hourly basis, as every death row inmate had to be accounted for throughout the day. Perhaps
it was time for another head count, or maybe it was a trusty coming along to take sundry orders.
We were allowed to purchase certain items each week, including food, cigarettes, soap, and other
bare essentials. It was similar to living on your own, only you did not get air conditioning or a
nice view. I was never a smoker, but I did have a propensity for buying snacks. The procured
food certainly beat the garbage the prison dished out three times a day.
“Evans! Ready for leave!” A guard barked at me unexpectedly.
I dropped the towel in the sink and turned to face him. “What’s the reason?” My voice
lacked firmness due to the uneasiness I felt.
“Just do it.” Though not much of a physical specimen based on his balding, bronze
hair and flabby build, the guard’s stern-eyed stare forced me to take him seriously. I took the
mandatory orange top from the drawer beneath my bed and slipped it over my head.
“Arms out,” he said.
Every incarcerated man dreams of being on the outside one day, yet I was perfectly
content on staying in my cell. When you can literally walk your entire world in two or three
strides, it wears on you, and I had only been at El Dorado for a little over a month. In this case,
however, I feared meeting the same fate as those death row inmates who were dragged from their
cells before me.
I stepped forward and put my hands through the opening in the cell door. As the guard
slapped his handcuffs on me, droplets of sweat started to roll down my face, making their way
from the base of my shaved head past my hazel eyes. Despite the fact I was several inches
taller than him and in impeccable shape for a guy of forty-something, I experienced a sense of
helplessness. I was at the mercy of others now.--

Out of the Dark (Grey Wolves #4) by Quinn Loftis

Darkness has descended on the Transylvanian Alps.
Four packs of the powerful Grey wolves – in a rare show of cooperation – had joined together here in an effort to help their pack members find true mates. Then they were betrayed by one of their own – an Alpha hell-bent on becoming the most powerful of the Canis lupis. And though the wolf's assassination attempt on the currently-reigning Romanian Alpha failed, his plans to get Decebel, the Romanian Beta, out of the picture were coming together even as his treachery was discovered. The wolf fled, leaving destruction, death, and a missing mate behind him.

Unbeknownst to the other packs, the wolf has employed a witch to finish the deadly job and help him gain another tool to increase his power. A curse of devastating proportions will cripple Decebel in a way that may dissolve his fragile bond with Jennifer. Meanwhile, injured and alone, Jen has been fighting for her life. She had come to terms with her fate, accepting that she would not share a life with Decebel, until help came in the most unexpected form...

Vasile will have to use all his resources – including Sally, the new gypsy healer of the Romanian pack – to discover a way in which to destroy the witch, lift the curse from Decebel and reunite him with the one woman who makes him whole, and solve a mystery that's been surrounding the Romanian pack for 300 years.

So, this is book 4 and if you have noticed... I LOVE this series... And now that Out of the Dark has graced my kindle, I have died and gone to heaven... But, as eager as I was to get this book... I am now sad, because I have finished and am already experiencing withdrawals of my favorite wolf pack...
When Just One Drop ended... We were in such turmoil in what was going to be the outcome for Jen and Dec... So, Out of the Dark picks up right where it ended and BAM... Action packed, heart wrenching events take place that leave you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, nervous for the outcome of these characters that you instantly connect with.
And OMG.. Quinn does not tip toe through her books... She allows her characters to experience every depth of turmoil and emotional conflict that you can fathom... And is there an HEA(happily ever after)??? Well, I can't tell you that.. But, let's just say... Out of the Dark...took me on a magical, suspenseful, exhilarating, roller coaster ride... with death-defying drops that leave you gasping for breath because you can't believe this has just happened then to those crazy twists and turns that blow your mind with excitement...
Like every book so far, having  Fane, Jacque, Jen, Dec, Sally, Costin, Vasile, Alina, and now some new, interesting characters....Out of the Dark allows your heart to be captured, wrapped up....making you fall for the Grey Wolves...providing heart-stopping, gut-wrenching, passion, romance, friendship, all while diving deep in to the mystical world of our Grey Wolves...
