Keystone Blog Tour

Woohoo! It's our stop on the Keystone blog tour and we're very excited to have author Misty Provencher drop by for a little q&a. We threw a bit of This or That at the uber smart and funny author.
We're sure you'll be cracking up right long with us...

And here we go! Hit it Misty:

Hi Kathryn and Shelley!!  I am so excited to be over here at TSK TSK What to Read for the Keystone Tour.  Thanks so much for having me and let me mention first- you guys know I’m a horrible fence sitter, right?  I love a little bit of everything, but I’ll try to make up my mind!

Wrangler butts (make me nuts) or Button fly on my guy?  You’re kidding right?  This one is so stunningly clear to me, absolutely no fence sitting on your first question!  Button fly, my babies.  Yah ha ha.

Baked or fried?  Oh my gosh- two that I actually have a solid opinion on!  Oh, you girls are good.  Baked.  Always baked.  At least that’s my politically correct answer to the potato chip conundrum.  Behind closed doors, however…well, that’s another sordid story.

Mac or PC?  I love how easy the Mac is to use, but I adore the keys of a PC.  I’ve got a sensory thing and I love the sound and feel of my PC keys.  I know.  Weird.

Glorious mane or buzz cut?  Have you met Garrett of the Glorious Maned Garretts?  Ooo la la mane.  However, I’ve met some buzz cuts that I wouldn’t mind not running my fingers through.

Heart breaker or Heart taker?  You girls are going sooo easy on me, aren’t you.  It’s because I whined, I think.  I’m usually into the takers, but I’ve been known to write a breaker too.  My upcoming stand-alone has a heart breaker.  Sexy jerk...I love to hate him.

Shaken or stirred?  (raises hand)  Allergic to alcohol.  However, if you mean heroines, then I prefer them shaken up and if you mean my Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee, then it should be lovingly stirred.  Wait.  Do you mean men’s loins?  Okay, on this one I’m definite: never shaken.  Makes ‘em crazy.

Plane or train?  I take Neither for $200, Tsk.  It’s not like I’d go Rain Man or anything…I’ll do either if necessary…but prefer my Home Sweet Car.

Sweet and shy or Wild and crazy?  Who me?  (blushes)  Shaken and stirred.  The only one I can’t do up there is shy.  But enough DD French Vanilla and I’ve been known to get pretty sweet.

Mountains or the beach?   Campground?  I’m not a mountain girl and have to be in the mood for hanging out at the beach…but a campground…ohhhhhh…I can sit in the sun and plug in my computer and write with all kinds of racket around me that isn’t calling my name directly?  Heaven.

A little Rock n Roll or Pure Country?  Both + everything else.  Give me a story in my music and I’m there.

Cake or pie?  CAKE.  There really isn’t another answer here, is there?  That’s like asking Cake or Rutabega.  Cake.  Always cake.  OMG, yes, cake.

A fun night out or cozy night in?  Does it include French Vanilla coffee and lots of blah blah?  Then, yes.

Early bird or night owl?  Bird, to the Rooster tune.  Usually.  But, when I was writing Cornerstone, I did it almost all between 8-11 at night.  For me, that’s way Owly.

Scary movies or romantic comedies?  Oh, my girls…I love the romantic, love the laughing.  Romance me with laughter, please.

We had a lot of fun with our This or That with Misty, but we wanted to learn a little more about her. So, we fired a few more questions at her and this is what she revealed...

What is the cheesiest pick up line ever used on you? Oh, I’m not that girl.  I was the one who fired the lines and chased the boys.  I don’t know that I had cheesy lines- they always seemed to work!

What one food will you not share with anyone?  Oh, dang it.  There’s all kinds of stuff I try not to share, but when you live in a monkey exhibit like I do, nothing’s sacred.  However, I found out that I don’t have to hide my Good & Plenty candy.  Eureka!

The last line of your autobiography would be?  You should know me…I’d love you like mad.

Do you have any hidden talents?  Cheeky girls…of course I’ll tell you…I know how to ride a motorcycle, I know how to get toddlers to say please and I know enough sign language to get us both slapped.  That’s a few of the things I keep around for a rainy day.

You wouldn't be caught dead _______?  God, I really hope I’m never caught dead.  I really hope to be caught alive and tickled (not so that I die laughing or anything)  and then fed Good & Plenty candy and mugs of French Vanilla.  Wait.  Was this a what’s your fantasy question?

These really were the most fun ever and you two made it incredibly easy on me!  Thanks so much for doing that and for having me blah blah all over your blog.  If you are ever in my redneck of the woods, come by for some French Vanilla!!

Oh, my! Misty had us rolling and snorting so much we couldn't even respond. She's a ton of fun- definitely our kinda girl! And we hope you enjoyed getting to know a little more about her. We sure did!

On to the fabulous books by Misty....

Cornerstone
(book 1 of The Cornerstone Series)

Nalena Maxwell has been branded ‘The Waste’ at her new school, due to her mom's obsessive paper hoarding. Nalena desperately wants something to change in her life, but when she receives a sign (and it's the wrong dang one) inviting her into a mysterious, ancient community, too much changes. What she knew of her family, what she thought of her life and what she believed about her future, is no longer applicable. Seventeen years worth of family skeletons come crashing into Nalena's life and it is the boy...the one that smiles at her like he wants to hear everything she'll ever say...that already knows her powerful secrets. But it is only Nalena that can choose between protecting the life that is already crumbling beneath her feet and the one that might sacrifice everything she could ever have.

Keystone
(book 2 of the Cornerstone Series)

There’s a man-made storm coming, like a rip in the world, and it’s called the Cusp.
Struggling to fit into the destiny she’s accepted, Nalena Maxwell has been left with one objective: she must find her murdered grandfather’s Memory. Stolen and hidden away by her own father over seventeen years ago, the Memory could be the key to ending the Cusp and destroying the Ianua’s rival community, The Fury.
Driven by each individual’s selfish desires, The Fury has always lacked the loyalty and organization it needs to be an actual force of power.
Until now.
Someone masterminded the Fury’s massive attack on the Ianua, slaughtering twelve of their thirteen community leaders, the Addos. Now there are rumors that the 13th Cura, to which Nali belongs, has gone to the Fury, manipulating the last Addo in order to control the other 12 Curas.
As the Cusp brings the Fury and their own communities against them, Nalena’s Cura must preserve the Ianua, but finding the key to the Cusp isn’t as simple as it seems.

So now you should've read our spotlight and reviews of the fascinating Keystone...
Kathryn's Review

OH WOW!! I am totally captivated by this book and let me say...
I read Cornerstone (book 1) and Keystone (book 2) back to back and the world that Misty has created here is phenomenal... Unique, explosive, mesmerizing, enthralling... The list could just go on and on with how taken I am with this book.
I also need to say that I am so thankful for being on this  tour and getting a chance to know Misty and read her magnificent books...
So, what am I bragging about?
Well, these books bring you in to a world that has such a new, refreshing, unique storyline.  I was immediately locked in to my seat and As i began that upward climb to travel on this thrilling journey of twists and turns, moments of heart wrenching, stomach aching scenes, over the top giddiness and just an overall exhilarating ride i knew that as it ended that i immediately wanted to rush and get back on....
Meeting Nalena from Cornerstone and watching her journey through her struggles and come in to her own brought on such pride for her from me. She is someone that everyone can connect with in some form or fashion.  The love she has for her mom, the embarrassment she feels because of her mom, and overcoming all of this to realize her greatest assets in life.  She is dealt a hand that as a teenager she has to grow up fast and not let life take you down.  Nalena is also surrounded by some great people  on her journey and they are no small characters either.  The Reese family is such a supportive group and how they have taken her under their wing to guide and protect is heart warming... But the person that stands out the most is Garrett... WHAT A MAN!! As each page turned, I fell more and more for him.  He exhibits such wisdom And compassion all the while being such a solid rock of foundation for Nalena.  In Keystone he really amps up his feelings for her and when he tells her how her Re-Impressioning went for him... I melted!!!
Needless to say, I loved these books!! Filled with action, suspense, unique world building, and some phenomenal characters... These are books you need to run out and buy TODAY!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Shelley's Review

I was so impressed with Misty's world building in Cornerstone. It was  intricate and unique. Nali was such an interesting and different character, and yet she was familiar and easy to relate to. Her narrative was clever, and her dialogue quick witted, if not a bit snarky. We were one, she and I. And we were off and running...If you read Cornerstone, you know it was an action packed, whirlwind of emotion. The world is changing and Nali is just learning about herself and her real life's calling. So much takes place and we're left hanging by a thread wondering how she and Garrett will make things work...can they survive the tragedies they've had to endure, protect Mankind, the existence of the Ianua and finally be together? Is that what Nalena really wants?
Having gone through what she has, discovering so much about herself and her family's past and seeing how the people in her world can so suddenly change, she finds she's not sure she's ready to make a lifetime commitment to someone she's known for such a short time.
She's having trouble understanding all she's become and is becoming more unsure of who she can trust.
So this is where we stand at the beginning of Keystone. Right where we left off.
We jump right back in to the heartache and confused feelings. And Nalena is not the only one hurting. The Reese's have put everything on the line and as a result have suffered a great loss as well. Their world is complete chaos. What can a poor teenage girl, left out of the loop all these years possible do? Jump in, hang on for dear life and pray you get it right.
It's all a bit overwhelming- and exciting...but that's just what Nalena does. She jumps in head (and heart), first.
Keystone is one of those stories, where so much has already happened, you can't imagine what else the author could possibly put her characters though. They've endured pain and loss of epic proportions, faced absolute fear and ventured in to the unknown. Well, let me tell you, Misty was just getting started. And that's a good thing for us. We get to journey with some wonderful characters that never give up, even when they doubt themselves and what's in front of them. Always find something good to cling to. And vow that yes, against all odds and enemies, they are indeed meant to be.
This book was an insane roller coaster. At times I didn't know what was up or down. The commotion within the Ianua world was unraveling everything. While Nali was attempting to embrace her "new life" everything in that life was changing. Life, as Garrett, the Reese's and the rest of the Cura know it was forever altering.
I did mention CHAOS???
Of course there are tender moments between our lovebirds, but the majority of the time, these two are doing their best to survive and find the Key to restoring order to the world. Not just their communities, the entire world, for they in essence keep the balance.
I can't possibly say more without giving something away, but I will say, I love Nalena and Garrett. Together and separate. They are amazing characters. Both strong and courageous...willing to sacrifice themselves amidst their doubts, for the greater good. Granted that is how Garrett was raised, but Nali steps up and follows her heart and her instincts, and shows everyone what she's really made of. That in itself, is a great story. Their love for each other is a great story. Garrett is a most swoon worthy hero that gets more enchanting by the moment.
Keystone is just as compelling, complex, frightening and romantic as the first book, and yet is still fresh and exciting. You never know what's coming next or even who they're really fighting against. I didn't know what to expect until the very end.
Intense. Enthralling. Keystone marks this as a must read series.

We both give Keystone:

Most Wanted for week of September 17

Cursed
by Jennifer L Armentrout

Dying sucks-- and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.
Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out.
However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't? But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not have been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.

The Raven Boys
by Maggie Stiefvater

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.
Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.
His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.
But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.
For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

The Diviners
by Libba Bray

Evie O'Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City--and she is pos-i-toot-ly thrilled. New York is the city of speakeasies, shopping, and movie palaces! Soon enough, Evie is running with glamorous Ziegfield girls and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is Evie has to live with her Uncle Will, curator of The Museum of American Folklore, Superstition, and the Occult--also known as "The Museum of the Creepy Crawlies."
When a rash of occult-based murders comes to light, Evie and her uncle are right in the thick of the investigation. And through it all, Evie has a secret: a mysterious power that could help catch the killer--if he doesn't catch her first.

Ten
by Gretchen McNeil

And their doom comes swiftly.

It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives—an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school’s most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury.
But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.
Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn’t scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?

Adaptation
by Malinda Lo

Reese can’t remember anything from the time between the accident and the day she woke up almost a month later. She only knows one thing: She’s different now.
Across North America, flocks of birds hurl themselves into airplanes, causing at least a dozen to crash. Thousands of people die. Fearing terrorism, the United States government grounds all flights, and millions of travelers are stranded.
Reese and her debate team partner and longtime crush David are in Arizona when it happens. Everyone knows the world will never be the same. On their drive home to San Francisco, along a stretch of empty highway at night in the middle of Nevada, a bird flies into their headlights. The car flips over. When they wake up in a military hospital, the doctor won’t tell them what happened, where they are—or how they’ve been miraculously healed.
Things become even stranger when Reese returns home. San Francisco feels like a different place with police enforcing curfew, hazmat teams collecting dead birds, and a strange presence that seems to be following her. When Reese unexpectedly collides with the beautiful Amber Gray, her search for the truth is forced in an entirely new direction—and threatens to expose a vast global conspiracy that the government has worked for decades to keep secret.

What's Left of Me
by Kat Zhang

I should not exist. But I do.

Eva and Addie started out the same way as everyone else—two souls woven together in one body, taking turns controlling their movements as they learned how to walk, how to sing, how to dance. But as they grew, so did the worried whispers. Why aren’t they settling? Why isn’t one of them fading? The doctors ran tests, the neighbors shied away, and their parents begged for more time. Finally Addie was pronounced healthy and Eva was declared gone. Except, she wasn’t . . .
For the past three years, Eva has clung to the remnants of her life. Only Addie knows she’s still there, trapped inside their body. Then one day, they discover there may be a way for Eva to move again. The risks are unimaginable-hybrids are considered a threat to society, so if they are caught, Addie and Eva will be locked away with the others. And yet . . . for a chance to smile, to twirl, to speak, Eva will do anything.

Beyond the Veil (book 5 of Grey Wolves series) by Quinn Loftis

Though the Serbian pack has been brought to heel thanks to the downfall of their Alpha, the war is far from over.
Desdemona, a witch of unfathomable power, has escaped the wolves’ wrath, but she will not go quietly into the night. She takes refuge in a place where even the smallest sliver of light does not dare to enter. Though she had to flee, she has not given up on the treasure she wishes to acquire. Her depravity knows no bounds; she's even willing to search for the one who can assist her in opening a Veil that has not been opened in millennia – with good reason: the danger is incalculable.

Meanwhile, there are major changes rippling through the Romanian Grey wolves. Decebel has become Alpha to the Serbian pack in an effort to begin to unite the Canis lupis species. Their numbers are dwindling in the wake of the shortage of true mates and lack of offspring. The wolves are beginning to lose faith and darkness seems to be crashing in on them from all sides. But the winds of change are blowing, changes that will alter the future of not only the Canis lupis, but of another ancient race as well.
Amidst all of this, Sally is continuing to come to terms with her relationship with the playful, charming, flirty, unbelievably handsome bartender – who happens to be a member of the Romanian pack.
If all that weren’t enough, the Fates have decided to pay a little visit to Jen. It’s time to collect. She cheated the Fates of a life, her life. Now they want what they are due. The problem? It’s more than Jen is willing to pay.
Yes, the war is indeed far from over. Bargains will be struck, declarations will be made, sacrifices will be given, love will be tested, and trust will be questioned as evil makes its stand against them all.

Kathryn's Review of Beyond the Veil:
ARC Review
(Thank you Quinn for allowing me to review BTV for you!)

*sighs* I just finished Beyond the Veil and I sit here now soaking it all in...*thinking*
AMAZING.... INTRIGUING.... NAIL BITING....how these are just a few words to begin my description of this book!!
If you don't know by now, I LOVE the Grey Wolves series...I have been blown away since I opened up Prince of Wolves... and now, here in book 5, Quinn has still surprised me, shocked me, completely twisted me in knots, and all the while causing me to fall more in love with these fabulous wolves.
So, when I received the ARC, I was beyond ecstatic and couldn't wait to start it!! Diving back in to the Grey Wolves world feels like home and before you know it, you have completely lost yourself to these wolves.
I was so excited to read more about Sally since in the previous books she has somewhat been in the background... But, she is really coming in to her own and with Costin by her side... OH YEAH!!! But, this is just a minute detail in to the events happening in this book!!
Of course we get the fabulous Jen and Dec, Jacque and Fane, Vasile and Alina... But, we are introduced to new characters, as well as, get to know some of the other favorable characters throughout the series and boy do each of them add some spice and intrigue in to the lives of  our favorite wolves...
From start to finish we are caught up in what is going to happen with the impending problems caused by that bothersome witch... We are sitting on the edge of our seats, biting our nails,  holding our breath, desperately awaiting the outcome of these events... Many things happen... Some great and some that rip your heart out... But a great writer allows you, the reader, to experience all this and keep you enticed all the way through...
So, once Beyond the Veil releases on Sept 30... Don't hesitate... Grab your copy, lock yourself away from everything because YOU WILL NOT want to put this book down!!!
As ALWAYS... Hands down, one of my favorite authors and series!!!

Born in Flames Blog Tour

Born in Flames
by Candace Knoebel

Red mirrored scales race up my arms as the haze of pain blurs my vision. My bones crack, breaking to realign. I scream. It is then that the realization of my unavoidable fate sinks in; I am of a dying race. I am dragon.

Aurora Megalos, orphaned and teetering on the edge of adulthood, thought finding her past would curb the sting of being an outcast. Having no memories of the time before she awoke on her foster mother’s doorstep, she yearns for the emptiness inside her to be filled. With her fellow orphaned best friend, Fenn, by her side, she has nothing to lose and everything to gain. But something powerful stirred within her that she couldn’t explain. Something wanted out.

In the dark of night, a crazed Seer, dubbed Mr.Creepy, erases everything she’s ever known with an impending prophecy. She now faces two paths. Return to her true home to protect a dying race against a growing evil, or stay hidden in the safety of our realm with a shot at a true love. With a vengeful Arch Enemy stopping at nothing to see her dead, she’s running out of time; a decision must be made. What would you choose?

About the author...

Candace Knoebel had dreamed of being a dancer ever since she could remember. With a love of all things art, she saw herself moving to New York and pursuing her passion as an artist. But all that changed on October 10th, 2002 when she met the love of her life. Her dreams diverged and after marrying her high school sweetheart and having two beautiful children, she realized she missed her creative side.
Growing up alongside the Harry Potter series, Candace found herself missing the epicosity of a story that pulls you in and won’t let you go. In 2009, she began dreaming up characters that would mold her first novel. Through lunch breaks and late nights, after putting her kids to bed, she built a world where she could escape the ever-pressing days of an eight to five Purgatory. She found her calling in life and knew this was more than dancing could’ve ever meant to her.
Once complete in 2010, she began the grueling process of finding a publisher. With relentless determination, she was finally able to realize her dream in December of 2011 when 48fourteen offered her a publishing contract. With a HUGE yes and a happy dance, she now continues her Trilogy.

Kathryn's Review
WOW!! I am so excited about being able to read this and be a part of this tour.  Meeting Candace Knoebel has been fantastic and her debut novel, Born in Flames, is SMOKIN!! Thank you Andie Kozari for bringing this fabulous author and book to my attention!!
With that said, this book is packed full of action, intrigue, suspense, well developed characters, and an overall great storyline.
Candace has created such a unique and enthralling world that I immediately fell in love with...One filled with magic and mythical creatures, where you are instantly transported from this world of normalcy to the enchanted one filled with the fantastic cast that Candace has introduced us to...
From beginning to finish, you are held captive by our heroine Aurora.  She is a spunky fiery young lady and even though you know her little secret, it is soooo much fun taking the journey she is on to find herself.  Along her journey, she has her best friend, loyal confidant, Fenn.  Does he stay her best friend?  You are going to have to read Born in Flames to find out...But, I will tell you this...The relationships that Aurora develops in this book are heart warming and substantial.  I like finding those type of stories every once in a while, especially when so many seem to rely on the dark sadness of a teen's life.
With Born in Flames finished, I am eagerly awaiting the next book to find out what happens with this great cast of characters!  With so much weighing on Aurora's shoulders, will she be able to fulfill her prophecy?
Biting my nails with anticipation!!!

Shelley's Review

First I want to say thank you to our good friend, Andrea (Andie) Kozári for discovering Candace and asking us to be part of the tour to help introduce her to the rest of the world. Thank you, Candace Knoebel, for this magickal tale. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Anyone and everyone that knows me, knows how much I love anything to do with high fantasy. Magick in all it's forms is fascinating to me, colors my world, drives my imagination and completely fills my senses. Weave dragons (they are magickal creatures, after all), in to a story with Mages and ancient prophecies...well, I am all aboard and ready to fly!
Candace has created such a world. Plumb full of magick, intrigue, lots action and many surprises. Her characters are fun and fresh, and I found myself immediately connected. From the very first page she has you engaged and eager to learn about Aurora and her destiny. The picture she paints of Aurora's beginning is beautiful and intense...a bit frightening. And then...BAM! We are thrust into a modern world, where Aurora knows nothing of her past and finds herself and her best friend for life, Fenn, in a race against time and all odds to quickly discover what has been hidden from the both of them in order to fulfill a prophecy neither of them was even aware of.
Wow, right?! It doesn't happen all that quickly. We do get to meet Aurora and Fenn and spend a short time with them in their every day life. It seems fairly ordinary. Aurora is content and feels safe with Fenn. He's been an amazing friend and they have a connection that cannot be broken. But, she's never felt like she belonged. Not knowing her parents or what has happened to them, she feels something is missing. A piece of her that makes her feel lost and unfulfilled.
All that changes on a mundane day at work and we're sent on a wild ride, as the pair are forced to accept and follow a path they no nothing about. They discover a world they had no idea existed and as they begin this difficult journey, they find they have to make choices that may not only separate them, but also end their lives. Nothing is simple. Everything is a riddle, and everyone they encounter can either help or hinder their progress. Aurora has no idea what to believe or who she should trust.
And so here we are...moving swiftly through two very different worlds filled with amazing and complex characters, both fascinating and dangerous, where nothing is as it seems...it's so much more. And time is running out!
Candace weaves an emotional,  action packed tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat, holding your breath, clutching your heart, trying to guess what happens next...and rooting for Aurora every step of the way.
So much happens in this first book. It's hard to believe there could be more to come...but, of course, there is much, much more. Much to learn, much to embrace and much to conquer.
I was completely enthralled, thoroughly entertained and thrilled with the ending. And yet, I was sad to see, The End, on the last page. I am so invested in Aurora and her new world, I can hardly wait to get my hands on the second book to see what her next move will be. Guaranteed it will involve more magick, more danger and maybe...a little romance? We can hope. But only the Fates (and Candace), know for sure.

Hidden
(Firelight series)
by Sophie Jordan

Jacinda was supposed to bond with Cassian, the "prince" of their pride. But she resisted long before she fell in love with Will—a human and, worse, a hunter. When she ran away with Will, it ended in disaster, with Cassian's sister, Miram, captured. Weighed down by guilt, Jacinda knows she must rescue her to set things right. Yet to do so she will have to venture deep into the heart of enemy territory.
The only way Jacinda can reach Miram is by posing as a prisoner herself, though once she assumes that disguise, things quickly spiral out of her control. As she learns more about her captors, she realizes that even if Will and Cassian can carry out their part of the plan, there's no guarantee they'll all make it out alive. But what Jacinda never could have foreseen is that escaping would be only the beginning....
Loyalties are tested and sacrifices made in the explosive conclusion to Sophie Jordan's Firelight trilogy.

Korbyn is a god inside his vessel, and a trickster god at that. He tells Liyana that five other gods are missing, and they set off across the desert in search of the other vessels. For the desert tribes cannot survive without the magic of their gods. But the journey is dangerous, even with a god’s help. And not everyone is willing to believe the trickster god’s tale.
The closer she grows to Korbyn, the less Liyana wants to disappear to make way for her goddess. But she has no choice: She must die for her tribe to live. Unless a trickster god can help her to trick fate—or a human girl can muster some magic of her own.
