What matters most to you?

It used to be Trinity, hands down. These days, I’m not so sure. My dragon, Fred, is also precious to me. She died, but I can visit her in the Nether. And then there’s Scarlet…

When not trying to save the world, how do you spend your time?

Causing trouble. Doing my own thing. Making out with hot girls in the Nether. (Okay, there were only two, but still!) Flying my dragon.

If money was no object and you had 3 weeks of vacation from being on the run what would you do with your time?

Not saying this is the healthiest answer ever, but hey I’m not a healthy kind of guy. I’d probably end up palming a gem and going to the Nether to hang out with Fred, my dragon. The Nether can be anything you imagine it to be—and I can imagine quite a bit.

“Okay, Fire Kissed,” he said. “It’s showtime.”

Together they jumped out of the truck, slamming the doors behind them. Connor ran around the back, rolling up the door and pulling out a huge box. Trinity helped him heave it onto the loading dock.

“Are you okay in there?” she whispered to the box. “Perfect,” Nate assured her from inside. “You guys go on ahead. I should be close enough now to hack into their security cameras and get them offline.” He paused then added, “Good luck. Just don’t forget about me once you have your dragon.”

“Never,” Trinity assured him, patting the box. Then she rose to her feet and approached Connor. “Ready?”

“As I’ll ever be.”

With confident, casual steps, they strode up to the guard, who was propped in a chair by the elevator, his feet up, nose in a book, completely ignoring the chaos around him. Guess deliveries weren’t in his job description. Connor gave him a small smile. “We need the elevator,” he informed him.

“Yeah, well, I need my ex-wife to get off my back,” the guard said lazily, snapping his gum. “We’ve all got problems.” Connor’s eyes zeroed in on him. “I don’t think you under- stand,” he said. “We need the elevator. We need to get upstairs. You need to let us in.”

Trinity drew in a breath, watching him work. She had to admit, Connor looked particularly hot when he was working to manipulate people’s minds. It was like he got this look in his eyes—those blue, glowing eyes of his—like he was some kind of Jedi Master or something. Truth be told, it kind of made her want to jump his bones. Not that this was the time or the place.

Pushing the inappropriate thought down, she turned back to his victim. Sure enough, the man’s face had gone slack, and he was staring up at Connor with vacant eyes. “You need the elevator,” he droned. “You need to get upstairs. You need me to let you in.”

Then, to Trinity’s excitement, he slowly rose to his feet, walked over to the elevator in question, and inserted his key. Just like that. A moment later, the doors yawned open. The guard looked at them expectantly.

Trin flashed Connor an approving look. You didn’t even need my help for that one, she teased.

Yeah, well, it’s all you from here on out, he shot back, but he looked pleased by the compliment all the same.

Announcement from Nazarea Andrews:

Since RUIN OF THE WORLD released (actually since before that) I've been hearing over and over that people wanted more zombies.

But Ren and Finn's story was over. They needed to be over. Buuuuut. There was a character. Two characters. And they were incredibly noisy. And the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to know--what happened to Josiah and Park that led them to leave the Holdout? What shaped them? And--most importantly--what happened after they did? So. You guys are getting more zombies. Let's talk about what this means-- 1. At the moment, I'm planning two books. The first will release next year (2016) 2. This is about Park and Josiah, they will be the POV characters. 3. Finn and Nurrin may show up, but I don't promise that and they are not the main characters. Their story is still over. 4. I adore Siah and Park. So so much. I can't wait to share them with you.

I think it’s no secret that one of my favorite things is zombies. I love them, and going back to my little zombie infested apocalypse was so much fun. I knew almost from the first book that at the end I wanted to release a box set. And I wanted to tell stories that I didn’t get to in the novels.

Finn said—repeatedly—that only one thing mattered. Keeping Ren safe. For him, that was the goal, that was the entire story. And that’s the story I told—Finn and Ren’s and when they found their happily ever after (or for now, considering the world), that’s where it ended.

Raven watched as William efficiently disrobed, neatly folding every article of black clothing (with the exception of underwear, which he never wore), and placing it on the vanity.

She brushed imaginary lint from her dress as he stood in front of her, naked.

He was under six feet in height, his body lean and strong. Raven took a moment to appreciate the definition of his muscled chest and abdomen, and the strong cast to his thighs.  Not even a statue carved by the most talented sculptor could create a being with so much perfection.

His face put her in mind of an angel with intense, gray eyes that now looked at her expectantly.

She hid her face.  “You said you loved me.”

“I did. What’s more, I meant it.”

“Love is a peculiar thing. I’ve seen it. I’ve even cheered for it. But I never believed it was for me.”

“Why shouldn’t a beautiful, fierce young woman hope for love?”

“Because, as you put it, human beings are shallow.”

“Love is deep.” His rich voice echoed in the bathroom.

“Love is having the power to destroy another person.”

William stepped closer.  “Are you afraid of being destroyed?”

“Destroyed, consumed, betrayed.” She fidgeted with the neckline of her gown.

William placed his hand over hers, stilling it.  “Love creates; it doesn’t destroy.”

With a slow kiss on her neck, he led her into the shower, standing behind her underneath a tropical rainfall showerhead.

Raven closed her eyes and lifted her face, like a flower following the sun.  The warm water soaked her hair and streamed down the generous curves of her body.

“I’ve never showered with another person.  What happens next?” William rested his hands on her shoulders.

She wiped the water from her face.

“Whatever you want. Just don’t let me fall.”

William’s gaze dropped to her right leg, which she was favoring.

“Is the pain terrible?”

“It’s worse after I’ve been lying down.  Sometimes I topple over.”

William spread his arm around her waist, drawing her back to his chest.  “Then I must be sure to catch you.”

She kissed him, reaching up to run her fingers through his wet hair as the water poured down their shoulders.

Her motions were fraught with an eagerness born of love and affection and the relief of remembering she hadn’t lost him.

He was hers.

Even now, naked, with a myriad of flaws few men overlooked, he embraced her. He embraced her imperfections.

He loved her.

His cool hands scorched her skin, splaying fingers wide over her abdomen and bringing her backside into contact with what rose between his hips.

She gave him her weight and he held firm, nipping and licking at her lips before enticing her to enter his mouth.

He entertained the intrusion for a moment or two then, with a growl, he spun her around, pressing their chests together.

Raven looked up into blazing gray eyes.

“Are you certain?”

She nodded.

“I need the words, Raven. I need to know you want this.”

“I want you.”

He took her mouth, his tongue alternately penetrating and retreating in a sensual rhythm.

She tilted her head, welcoming him, as the water continued to rain down.

“Hello, darling,” Landau drawled, drawing Julija’s attention.

His little stalker merely glared at him. Landau leaned an elbow on the table, blocking her view of her male friend. Her gaze grew frostier.

“Careful, careful.” He waved a finger at her and dropped his voice to his most charming tone. “You don’t want to give me frostbite.”

She looked at her companion, and Landau thought he saw irony in her eyes. He smiled before canting his head around to take stock of her friend. The man stared straight at him with a tight, knowing smile.

Landau stumbled back a step. Realizing he’d reacted, he planted his feet and cooled his rising temper. “To what do I owe the honor of the Ivory King’s presence in my city?”

“Ivory what?” Julija echoed in feigned disbelief, but the slight widening of her eyes suggested he’d shocked her with his knowledge.

“Save it, love,” he said with a killing glance, mocking her lie. “And why are you stalking me?”

“Oh, do beg off.” She rolled her eyes. “I’m not stalking you.”

“You—”

The highborn elf cut Landau off with, “Your life’s in danger.”

“What?” Landau narrowed his eyes on the royal cretin. “Am I supposed to believe you’re here to protect me?”

The very idea is ludicrous!

The snot inclined his head.

Landau scoffed. “Bulletin! I’m a vampire.”

“Save it, love,” Julija shot back at him.

Landau whipped his head about and raised his eyebrows. Her sarcasm almost jerked a laugh out of him, but he managed to cage it at the last moment. The grin twitching at his lips had no hope of being totally eradicated.

She gave him a tight smile. “Call yourself whatever you like, you’re still a Crimson elf.”

“Yeah.” He flashed his incisors at her for no other purpose than to taunt her. Their races weren’t on friendly terms. She had her Ivory King to thank for that. “That didn’t seem to matter when the rest of you fucking elves decided to eradicate us. Don’t expect me to believe you suddenly care.”

“We allowed your race to survive.” The sardonic comment came from her snotty friend.

“So you have.” Pompous bastard probably thought he could’ve killed Landau. Alberic was a threat to Landau’s children. Landau raked his gaze over the elf-man. “I believe I recall you from another time.”

Before Landau became a vampire at Chaos’ whim, he’d known the Ivory King well, and this elf wasn’t the true blood King.

The elf cocked his head to the side, as if waiting further comment or assessing if Landau would out their former relationship to Julija.

“Do you like what you see?” Landau turned his attention to Julija instead of elaborating, snubbing the royal elf.

Julija sputtered. “I b-beg your… um… pardon?”

“You were studying me.”

“No.” She sniffed and scrunched her nose as if his scent offended her. “I wasn’t.”

The situation amused him, and he called her bluff with a knowing grin. Intrigued, he watched her eyes focus on his fangs a moment before she licked her lips. His cock responded with a twitch. A fascinating reaction since he’d been impotent for ten thousand years. Being aroused by an Ivory elf—an enemy—was damn inconvenient.

“Would you care to dance?” Landau surprised himself with the request.

She flicked a nervous glance in the direction of the man-elf. She swallowed hard and flattened her tone, “I don’t dance.”

“Good.” Landau clamped his fingers around her wrist and yanked her to her feet. She squawked like any human would and stumbled to catch her footing. “I’ll have the pleasure of teaching you the moves I prefer.”

“What part of ‘I don’t dance’ don’t you get, vampire?” Angry, she fairly spat the word vampire. Her eyes gleamed and turned him on as did the fury smoking her voice.

“How about the part where I don’t give a damn?”

So HOT I had to put it down. Seriously. Super sizzling. SCORCHING. From page one, these characters grabbed my attention and affection, and had all my senses tingling.
