Jule Welsh can sing. She enthralls people with her bel canto voice. But it takes more than practice to reach her level of exquisite song; it takes siren's blood running through her veins. Jule is starting her senior year at Cougar Creek High when her relatively normal world begins to resemble a roller coaster flying through a carnival scare house. Her mother is diagnosed as insane and committed, a psycho-stalker is snapping pictures of her to put into his homemade Jule-shrine, her voice is suddenly putting people into comatose trances, oh and the gorgeous new guy in town, Luke Whitmore, is interested in her . . . but also wants to kill her.

Excerpt:
The silence and darkness pack in around us until it feels like I’m floating in emptiness. The thought tightens my stomach. I shift until I feel the firm side of Luke’s arm pressing back. A flash of lightning splinters the clouds overhead, momentarily lighting up the gray, morphing bodies from the inside. Thunder follows a second later, loud and stark. I jerk, my hand grasping Luke’s forearm.
“Isn’t it supposed to be dangerous to be on a golf course in a lightning storm?” I ask, but stay rooted to the soft grass.
“That’s when you’re standing up holding a nine-iron.” Another bolt of lightning flicks in the clouds, followed by thunder. “Although we may get a little wet. You don’t melt, do you?”
I should sit up, ask him to lead me to shelter or run for the clubhouse. But Luke’s hand captures mine. He trails lazy circles with his thumb over the back, up and over my knuckles.
“No, I don’t melt, but Carly might send the flying monkeys if you allow my hair to get ruined.” At the mention of Carly, my stomach tightens.
“Is she going to be okay?” I whisper as if the words themselves show my disloyalty. If I really was questioning her safety, would I have let her go? What kind of friend am I?
“She’ll be fine. Perhaps a little hazy about the events of tonight, but that’s it.”
I stare at him. Even with my eyes wide, Luke’s features are still in complete shadow.
“He’s drugging her?”
I make out the sharp edge of Luke’s profile just before it disappears. He turns toward me.
“There are no drugs involved. It’s more of a…memory spell. To help her forget all of Taylin’s mumblings.”
“A spell? How…?”
“It’s sort of like hypnosis.”
“But why shouldn’t she remember what Taylin said?”
“It will just confuse Carly to know all that.”
“But I’ll just tell her.” Stop talking, Jule! But my lips don’t listen. “Unless…” I swallow hard, my throat constricting; I fight to get the rest out, “…you plan to do the same to me.”
Luke’s face is close, our shoulders now touching, arms overlapping. When did he move closer? He warms the left side of my body. “I haven’t decided yet,” he says, as if he’s contemplating which movie to see.
A sudden thought squeezes my stomach. “Have you…have you done that before? The forgetting thing? To me?” Did we do more than kiss the other night? I am still a virgin, despite the close calls with Derek. I think I would know if we’d…I mean, wouldn’t I know if–
“No, I haven’t.”
I’m able to breathe again. I stare back at his dark features. Lightning splashes white light over them. It is surreal lying here under the oncoming storm, staring into the dark, sad eyes of someone…something sleekly dangerous, lethally beautiful, totally captivating.
I reach slowly for his face and run one finger along his rough jaw. “What are you?

COVER REVEAL: Burden by Lila Felix

In the depths of the Louisiana swamps, clans of bear shifters roam freely. Hawke Turnclaw, the Alpha over all of his kind, is drowning in the legacy left to him by the Alpha before him, his own father. When he goes on a rescue mission to save a rogue Black bear from the clutches of a Grizzly clan, he finds more than just a Black bear, he finds his mate.

Echo has always been told she's an anomaly, a fluke. She's the only bear of her kind and that makes her a hindrance to her clan. She's tried to run away, but they keep her tethered through guilt and a shock collar around her neck.

And then someone shows up claiming he's her mate.
Now belonging to a new clan, will she ever be able to understand that she's so much more than just a burden?

LILA FELIX
I am a stay at home mom from the South and wife to the most giving and hard working husband ever.  I love to cook and try out new recipes even if they don't always turn out like I want them to.  I refer to my kids lovingly as the Three Stooges as they are constantly coming up with new ways to reek havoc in the house.  Most recently that included putting a rubberband on the kitchen sink sprayer so it would douse me when I did the dishes.  I love to go to roller derby bouts and read in my spare time.  I write mostly at night when the house is silent and I can sneak cookies without having to share!  If you're into stalking, try under the Cypress trees in the swamps of Louisiana, but watch out for gators!!

BLOG TOUR: Under Different Stars by Amy Bartol

All she wants is a home, but can she find one...UNDER DIFFERENT STARS
Kricket Hollowell is normally not one to wish upon stars; she believes they’re rarely in her favor. Well versed at dodging caseworkers from Chicago’s foster care system, the past few years on her own have made Kricket an expert at the art of survival and blending in. With her 18th birthday fast approaching, she dreams of the day when she can stop running and find what her heart needs most: a home.
Trey Allairis hates Earth and doubts that anyone from his world can thrive here. What he’s learning of Kricket and her existence away from her true home only confirms his theory. But, when he and Kricket lie together under the stars of Ethar, counting them all may be easier than letting her go.
Kyon Ensin’s secrets number the stars; he knows more about Kricket's gifts than anyone and plans to possess her because of them. He also knows she’s more valuable than any fire in the night sky. He’ll move the heavens and align them all in order to make her his own.
When everything in their world can be broken, will Kricket rely upon love to save her under different stars?

Water swirls around me as I open my eyes. I shiver, realizing I’m in Trey’s arms. He’s standing chest deep in crystal blue water with Wayra pacing on the bank only steps away. Clutching Trey closer to me, my cheek remains on his shoulder. Watching a bead of water slip down his powerful neck, I hear Jax say, “She’s waking up.”
Trey, cupping his hand in the water, pours some of it over my hair. It drips down the sides of my face, cooling me. “Let’s get her out. I’ll get the visor and we can check her vitals.”
As Trey wades out of the pond with me in his arms, I try to lift my head from his shoulder. It makes me dizzy so I lay it back. It’s then I notice that I’m only in my bra and underwear. A blush creeps into my cheeks as I hug Trey tighter to me. Wayra meets us on the bank, draping a blanket over us. Trey sits down with me on his lap. He leans against a tree trunk holding me securely to his chest. Peeking at his face, he seems angry as he smoothes my hair back from my face.
Hurrying over with the visor that looks like grandma goggles, Trey sets them on my eyes. Everything is green as I gaze around at the water in front of us. Flashing green lights and readouts occupy the peripherals of the glasses, but the information is running faster than I can possibly read it.
“Ho!” Jax exclaims next to me.
Immediately, Trey’s arms tighten on me as he barks out, “What? How bad is it?”
“Naw, it’s not bad…it’s just…Kricket…” Jax breathes, like he’s in awe. “Look at this brain activity…it’s massive.”
“What do you mean?” Trey asks with relief in his tone.
Jax grins. “She’s lighting everything up. Look at her frontal lobe…it’s off the charts.”
“What does that mean? Is she healthy?” Trey growls.
Jax nods enthusiastically. “She’s healthy! We didn’t fry her with heat stroke, that’s for sure. Or, if we did, she’s got more brain activity than anyone I’ve ever seen to compensate for it,” he replies, sounding seriously geeked about it.
“Those things aren’t broken, are they?” Trey asks speculatively.
“No…here.” Jax pulls them off my face. “Wayra, come here.”
Wayra walks over and Jax puts the glasses on his eyes. “See! He’s normal, well, normal for him. See how it doesn’t light up in these areas?” he points out to Trey.
“Yes.”
“Now watch this,” he says, taking the glasses off of Wayra, he places them back on my face. “See? It’s like Christmas in Chicago with all those lights,” Jax says proudly.
“So that means she’s smart?”
Jax beams. “Yeah, she’s smart! She’s brilliant! There’s no telling what she can do.”
“If she’s so smart, why did she run until she almost popped? Why didn’t she just tell us she needed to rest?” Wayra asks derisively.
“Personality flaw,” Trey replies. “She’s going to show us that she’s not weak.”

“She’s sitting right here,” I murmur, pulling the glasses off my face and handing them to Jax.
 Amy Bartol
I live in Michigan with my husband and our two sons. My family is very supportive of my writing. When I’m writing, they often bring me the take-out menu so that I can call and order them dinner. They listen patiently when I talk about my characters like they’re  real. They rarely roll their eyes when I tell them I’ll only be a second while I finish writing a chapter…and then they take off their coats. They ask me how the story is going when I surface after living for hours in a world of my own making. They have learned to accept my “writing uniform” consisting of a slightly unflattering pink fleece jacket, t-shirt, and black yoga pants. And they smile at my nerdy bookishness whenever I try to explain urban fantasy to them. In short, they get me, so they are perfect and I am blessed.
I was so captivated by this book that on a work night I began reading and as I reached about 60% around midnight I figured I would put it down and head to sleep.
Well...My mind and heart said NO!!
I was lying there in bed for about 10 minutes trying my hardest to sleep but all I could think about was Kricket and Trey...
So, I grabbed my kindle and finished by 3 am...
I loved EVERY......SINGLE......MOMENT....
Oh my word...This book completely swept me away to a beautiful unique world and since I have finished I have been pining for more.
Amy Bartol created such an intricate fascinating mystical world in Under Different Stars and I was hanging on to every word; eagerly learning more and more about Ethar.  I was soaking it all up just as Kricket was and with the stunning details describing remarkable fascinating landscape and life of Ethar, I actually felt as if I was there with my beloved Rafes.
Brilliantly written, illustrating a fantasical storyline with extraordinary characters, this book landed itself in my top reads of the year.
I thoroughly enjoyed every character. From the protagonist to the antagonist, each one was written perfectly.
They carried me on their journey, eliciting strong emotions from me that has seeped in to my soul.  From the witty, snarky, naive, and strong heroine Kricket to the dashing, brave, protective, GORGEOUS HOT hunk Trey...
And even though Kricket and Trey are our main characters, the secondary ones are just as outstanding.  Jax and Wayra provide so many awesome supporting moments that it all felt like perfect symmetry...
*sighs*
Under Different Stars filled me with heart-stopping , gut-wrenching, action packed scenes all the while enticing us with a blossoming romance.
I feel like I am babbling but all I really want you to know is this book is PHENOMENAL!!!!
I highly recommend you read it!!!

BLOG TOUR: Exquisite Betrayal by A.M. Hargrove

Get ready for an AMAZING blog tour....
Exquisite Betrayal by A.M. Hargrove is a top read for me and I am so excited to be able to bring to you guys the playlist that goes along with this book.
Check out what A.M. Hargrove has to say about the playlist, listen to the songs, then make sure you scroll all the way to the end to enter the FABULOUS giveaway!!!!

As I was writing Exquisite Betrayal, I hopped on Twitter one day and noticed I had a new follower. It was a band called She Said Fire. Their name grabbed my attention so I followed the link to their website and took a listen to their music. Fate is a funny thing really. I’d been working on a scene between Fallon and Ryland Thomas, and it was one of those heart-wrenching scenes where blood is spilled (well, not quite, but you know what I mean). As I listened to all the tracks on She Said Fire’s Boom! EP, I absolutely fell in love with the song Better Ways. It was perfect for the scene I was writing and I knew I had to have the lyrics as the foreword for the book.

I hopped back to Twitter and sent She Said Fire a tweet along with a DM and got a quick reply. From there, Joshua Hawskley, the lead singer for the group, and I began exchanging emails.  He and the rest of the gang at SSF graciously agreed to allow me to use the song in my book. So not only does Better Ways appear in the foreword, but She Said Fire is also mentioned in the book, along with some of their other works. This band is AH-Mazing. They are a highly talented group of four—three hot guys and one gorgeous girl—and they play such a diverse sound that you can’t stop listening to them. My only problem is that I want MORE! If you want to learn more about them, you can stalk them on Facebook at Https://www.facebook.com/SheSaidFire

So, if you go to Spotify and check out the Exquisite Betrayal Playlist, you can’t help but notice that She Said Fire has a few songs featured on it, namely, Better Ways, Funhouse and Sleeping Through The Revolution.

*pssst… as part of the Exquisite Betrayal release giveaway, the She Said Fire Boom! EP Download will be included! So don’t forget to enter!

A male Romance Author… a convention in Vegas… a female book blogger… a goal to lose her virginity… what next? Find out when you mix all the above!

Fallon McKinley is headed to Vegas for the Wicked Wenches Romance Con and losing her virginity is only one of her goals. The other is to meet her favorite author of romance novels, R.T. Sinclair. What she doesn’t realize is that the sexy green-eyed god she rams into at the airport is the real R.T. When they keep running into each other, she’s shocked, but excited, because the attraction is irresistible.
Ryland Thomas Sinclair doesn’t want anyone to know his true identity. He’s the author that all women love, but everyone thinks he’s a female. He hides his persona behind the public face of his twin sister, keeping his own a secret. But after meeting the lovely Fallon, his intentions to avoid a relationship come to a screeching halt. She’s put an unwanted kink into his perfectly laid out plans. His unusual reaction surprises him because after a heart-shredding breakup a few years ago, he’s managed to avoid women at all costs.
Resisting Fallon becomes more difficult than he imagines. Soon things are spiraling out of control, until a major miscommunication has Fallon walking out of his home and his life. Will Ryland Thomas succeed in losing the woman he loves? Or can he win her back?

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life.  So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase.  Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head.  Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the window.  She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called her boss and quit her job.  Grinning, she made another call to her hubs and told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was beating properly again).
So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a YA/NA and Adult Romance writer. Her books include the following: Edge of Disaster, Shattered Edge and Kissing Fire (The Edge Series); The Guardians of Vesturon series (Survival, Resurrection, Determinant, reEmergent and Beginnings); Dark Waltz and Tragically Flawed.
Other than being in love with writing about being in love, she loves chocolate, ice cream and coffee and is positive they should be added as part of the USDA food groups.

 Absolutely AWESOME!!!

I gotta say, the first chapter in this book is amazeballs!! I was dying laughing and it hooked me instantly. I just knew I was going to love it.
I mean, a blogger convention in Vegas?? Oh yeah, it is going to be EPIC!!
Then add a one of those bloggers being a virgin?? OH YEAH...beyond PHENOMENAL!!!
But, it is not all about the convention and the heroines virginity.....A.M. Hargrove provided a great storyline with intriguing twists and shockers that kept me glued to those pages all the way through.
I was laughing, screaming, swooning, fanning myself, and cringing from so many awesome moments found in this novel. Exquisite Betrayal donned some awesome quotes, fabulous scenes and a relationship that rocks you to your core.
I hated seeing it end and its definitely...One of my favorite reads of the year...A DEFINITE MUST READ!!!!

COVER REVEAL: The Deep End of the Sea by Heather Lyons

YESSS!!! I am so excited about this cover reveal and this book.  I have been hearing about it for a while and I am growing in anticipation every day!!!
Check out the cover of THE DEEP END OF THE SEA by Heather Lyons...

~Kat

THE DEEP END OF THE SEA is a New Adult Fantasy set for release February 13, 2014! Carly Stevens (www.carlystevens.com) designed the cover with artwork from Kelsey Patton (art blog: http://starfishyyart.tumblr.com).

What if all the legends you’ve learned were wrong?
Brutally attacked by one god and unfairly cursed by another she faithfully served, Medusa has spent the last two thousand years living out her punishment on an enchanted isle in the Aegean Sea. A far cry from the monster legends depict, she’s spent her time educating herself, gardening, and desperately trying to frighten away adventure seekers who occasionally end up, much to her dismay, as statues when they manage to catch her off guard.  As time marches on without her, Medusa wishes for nothing more than to be given a second chance at a life stolen away at far too young an age.
But then comes a day when Hermes, one of the few friends she still has and the only deity she trusts, petitions the rest of the gods and goddesses to reverse the curse. Thus begins a journey toward healing and redemption, of reclaiming a life after tragedy, and of just how powerful friendship and love can be—because sometimes, you have to sink in the deep end of the sea before you can rise back up again.

Heather Lyons has always had a thing for words—She’s been writing stories since she was a kid. In addition to writing, she’s also been an archaeologist and a teacher. Heather is a rabid music fan, as evidenced by her (mostly) music-centric blog, and she’s married to an even larger music snob. They’re happily raising three kids who are mini music fiends who love to read and be read to.

COVER REVEAL: The Silver Rift by Teal Haviland

More than a young woman.
More than a warrior.
More like those she hunts than she knows.
Kellen is searching, pushed by the desire to avenge her family’s death and the destruction of the world she once knew and loved, led toward North Dand where her prime target, Tassus, lives in the home that was once hers. But Kellen is also pulled by a force she doesn’t understand, and whatever it is grows stronger the closer she gets to her former home.
And so does she.
As the awareness of her power builds with unrelenting intensity, so do the feelings she’s been fighting for Gerrit, a man who tried to steal from her, and wanted her to take his life—a man who keeps crossing her path.
Alone by choice, Kellen has become a force to be reckoned with. She had to. It’s what the new world she lives in demands. She has to conquer it, or it will end her. But when she started this journey she didn’t count on all the changes, she certainly didn’t count on Gerrit, and when she discovers the reason she is becoming more powerful her world will be altered, once again.
But will it be for the better?

Teal Haviland grew up with a love for anything fantastical or outrageous. As a teen she spent much of her time writing poetry and children’s stories, but set it aside for two decades before allowing her passion for it to take root (or, as she describes, take over her life). After years of dreaming of worlds where fairies, angels, demons, and shape shifters (to name a few) exist, she finally decided to begin writing her stories down. Inception, book one in her series The Reaping Chronicles, is her first published novel. Nowadays she happily spends her writing time penning urban fantasy novels and is testing out her horror/suspense writing abilities. In addition to completing her debut series, Teal is also working on the first book in her second series, The Silver Rift, her first horror/suspense,Whispers of Stacey Glen, and several other works-in-progress.

Residing in Tennessee with her daughter and her four-legged friends, Teal enjoys photography, travel, reading, music, cooking, daydreaming, writing (of course), and above all spending time with her family and friends.
