BLOG TOUR: Full of Grace by Misty Provencher

As you all may know we are pretty big fans of Misty Provencher and her mind blowing imagination. We discovered her when we were approached to take part in a tour for the second book in her YA paranormal series Cornerstone. We were... you got it... Blown. Away. The world she created and her characters, well they were so ALIVE. And we fell hard for her leading man, Garrett. So when she took the plunge into New Adult contemporary (a genre we can't get enough of right now), we willing went along for the ride and ended up falling for yet another of her charismatic heartthrobs, Oscar.
Well, Oscar has a best friend. And Full of Grace is HIS story.
If you read Halee Maree you've already met Landon Grace, but in Full of Grace... you get to step inside his seemingly simple life and his very complicated head. Landon's got a heck of a story to tell and today we're here to give you a glimpse into his world. So check out our reviews and the excerpt Misty chose for y'all. We'll warn you here AND a the beginning of the excerpt it has a *SPOILER* but it's one of Misty's fav's.

Don't miss the GIVEAWAY and please be sure to check out the other stops on the tour.
We want to thank Misty for granting us an early preview of Full of Grace, having us on this tour, for sharing her amazing stories with us and just being an all around ROCKSTAR. We LURVE ya, girl!
Now back to Landon...
Running about 7 bananas strong on shots from Hale and Oscar Maree’s wedding bar, what happened between Landon Grace and Sher Traifere was supposed to be a one time thing.  A quickie on a romantic night.  Sher wanted a fast evening of fireworks to remember on the dull horizon of her life; Landon wanted to get his mind off his psycho ex by feeling Sher’s curves.  By the end of the evening, a secret of Sher’s complicates Landon’s attempt to escape the girl’s chainsaw giggle.
Some one-night-stands just can’t be finished in one night.
Even more complicating, this one rises back up with a hard shot of morning sickness and an entire repertoire of questions.  The most important being:  how much pull does a guy really have in a woman’s choice to pursue or terminate a pregnancy?
And in this case, how clever can he be about stealing her pants?

*Remember this excerpt contains a ***SPOILER***

Read at your own risk!!!

“Just two orders of fries, please,” I tell the woman.  “And a pole dance.”
Sher gapes, but the woman doesn’t miss a beat.  She slings her checkered cleaning rag over her shoulder.
“Ena’s home feedin’ the kids.  If you really want it, I can call her, but I gotta warn you, Ena’s pretty high and mighty.  She ain’t gonna run over here for twenty percent of the bill if you’re only getting fries.”
“Would forty bucks do it?”
Thoughtful, the woman drops her chin in a nod.  “Think so.”
“About how long before she comes back?”
“Another ten minutes, at least.  Maybe twenty if she’s feeding Donny peas.  That kid hates peas.  She’s gotta trick him into eating ‘em.”
“Sexier by the second,” Sher murmurs under her breath.
“We’ll wait,” I say.
“Then I’ll get your fries.”
After the bartender leaves, Sher leans across the table, taking extra care not to touch the top or the sides.
“A lap dance?  I never said I wanted a lap dance!”
“It’s not a lap dance, it’s a pole dance.  You said you wanted to learn how to pole dance,” I correct her.  “And since I don’t see a whole lot of pregnant pole dancers, I expect the doctor might be against it.”
“As well as the audience,” Sher adds.
“I figured I’d get you the next best thing.  A lesson.”
“A lesson,” Sher deadpans,  “from Ena, who can’t make it because her kid who won’t eat his peas.”
“Sure.” I grin at her.
But Ena, wherever she was, blows into the bar in wobbling, worn stilettos before our fries even arrive.  The forty bucks must’ve inspired her to let Donny pass on the peas today.
Instead of being a lithe, young stripper, Ena is a thick, shot-putting kind of woman that looks to be running hard at her late thirties.  She’s got calves like metal torpedoes, bleach-blond hair extensions, and an outfit lifted from the set of Xena, Warrior Princess.  The last abrupt thing about Ena is that she appears to spend as much time tanning as it takes to dry out asphalt.  She’s highlighted that fact with body glitter.
“You want a dance?” Ena asks, stopping at our table with her skeptical eyebrow lifted high in the air.
“Please,” I say.
“It is forty,” she says.  She wipes a fingernail-claw over her lips.  I think it is meant to be suggestive.  Unfortunately, all it suggests to me is that I get my money out faster, so she’ll leave the table.  I hand her two twenties.
“You are a nice man,” Ena purrs, and Sher clears her throat.
“The dance is for me,” she says.  Ena glances at Sher with a sourpuss frown.
Once a high school drop out and runaway, Misty Provencher became a college grad, and is now a full-time novelist with a close knit family. She doesn't do labels well. While she can ride a motorcycle, knows how to Karate chop, and has learned enough French, Spanish, and Sign Language to get herself slapped, Misty's life is the ruse she uses to connect with people. She is totally enchanted with them and spends her days trying to translate the soul bouquet of her muses into words.
Misty Provencher lives in Michigan. Knock on her internet blog door at: Misty Provencher's Books, http://mistypro.blogspot.com/ or find her on Facebook and Twitter as Misty Provencher.

Ugh! Where to start? Well, this story was not at all what I was expecting. Knowing Landon was a pretty happy-go-lucky guy despite his last uh, tumultuous relationship, I thought this boy would be all fun and games. He definitely has his games but he's so so so much more. It didn't take long for me to fall under his spell. That's not to say he doesn't make things difficult. He does however try to do what's right.
And that's his charm. On the surface he's a playboy, a partier, the best friend, the go-to guy, but he's got a psycho ex-girlfriend and a family history like everyone else... and a gleaming heart of gold.
But that's not where this particular story starts...
After a little wedding/alcohol induced rendezvous, the best man and the maid of honor find themselves in a compromising situation. And now the fun *cough* really begins.
I can't say too much without giving it all away but I really got sucked into Landon's microscopic world and grew to love and root for him as each page turned. Why?
Well, out of the most inopportune, unplanned and somewhat unbearable circumstances he stands tall and... becomes a man. It's a wonderful thing to see.

It's also at times hilarious. The storyline is pretty heavy. Meaning the circumstances are serious and very relevant, but there are scenes that had me laughing out loud over the drama our would be lovebirds create for themselves. Misty understands human behavior like no other and fully uses that to her advantage. Sometimes having to sit back and wait for it all to play out was a bit frustrating but the dialogue was fantastic, and had me emotionally all over the place. Laughing, crying, shaking my head, and shouting, "What are you thinking?"... "Don't walk away... RUN! ... AND throwing things... mostly at an invisible Sher. {Love ya, girl, I really do!}
Reading this all from Landon's POV made it perfect. And refreshing. Seeing his inner struggles while trying to be a good guy and learning to navigate the mind of an inexperienced, totally unprepared AND frantic eighteen year old was well, priceless. So unusual.
And that brings us to our leading lady, er, girl, er... Sher. Sweet, innocent, insecure, giggly, and beautiful, Sher. She's a nonstop giggling machine. It's obviously a nervous tick but how Landon handles the annoyance is down right hysterical. And endearing. You know he must love this girl to endure it. Or he's a glutton for punishment. Or just plain crazy. Then again it could be that his sisters would kill him if he didn't do what he could. Hmm. I sway toward LOVE. I'm still a hopeless romantic.
Sher makes NOTHING easy for Landon. Between her insecurities, young beliefs, her own family's drama, her dreams for her future, and her ever changing hormones she puts our guy through the wringer. And where most guys would turn tail and run, Landon digs his feet in and never stops pleading his case.
THAT'S what's unexpected. And HERE is where I stop before my babbling gives up the whole story. The only other thing I will tell you is Full of Grace was different, fun, heartwarming, heartbreaking, insightful, charming, and filled with hope and promise. Move over Oscar Maree, Landon Grace has cemented his place in my heart. And ladies, I'm pretty sure he'll touch your heart too.

After reading HALE MAREE, I was really excited for FULL OF GRACE.  HALE MAREE was phenomenal and to know more about this series was definitely a high for me.  So, FULL OF GRACE released and finding out it was about Landon and Sher, I was let down a tad, but still eager to find out more about Hale's best friend.
So, I began reading and found that FULL OF GRACE was written in Landon's POV.  What a cool switch.  I knew then that I was going to like this. So, the first chapter begins and after the first 10% I was getting worried.  I was not liking Sher and Landon did not drag me in either.  *shaking my head* I was like, OH NO!!
BUT....Once I got passed the first 15-20% I really started liking Landon...A LOT!!! My first of impression of him changed and I started seeing him for the man he really is.  And he only kept getting better all the way through the book.  What an OUTSTANDING guy!! When a crisis would arise, he would just amaze me at how he handled it.  He is definitely the kind of guy every girl dreams of.  Loyal, honest, fun, reliable, and HOT!!!
And thank goodness for Landon...I can't tell you how many times Sher got on my nerves.  I know...I know...she was young and dealing with MAJOR life changing events, but GAH!! Nonetheless, I can say that by the end of the book, she wore on me and I started liking her a little more.  I saw her grow from the insecure giggling girl to a more confident stable woman.  Someone that took the punches life threw at her and always got back up, determined to keep her head held high and try to be happy.
FULL OF GRACE is a quick, romantic read that touches your heart.  Take a chance on Landon and find out just how super this guy really is!!
