There's danger in the beauty...
Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long
it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd
suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family
that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.
But he did. And I was done waiting.
Days after college graduation I headed back down to New
Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about
to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all
paranormal creatures, the Allures.
Hi guys!! Today...check out this interview that Alyssa did answering some questions that I am sure you all are curious about...
1) What inspired the Allure Chronicles?
The Allure Chronicles tells the story of one of my favorite
side characters from two of my other NA Paranormal Romance series. Although
Owen plays a big role in both the Crescent Chronicles and Empire Chronicles, he
never gets a chance at love, and I’ve been anxiously waiting to share his story
with readers.
Seduction’s Kiss developed when I was asked to participate
in a NA Paranormal Romance collection of Halloween novellas. When I sat down to
write mine, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to introduce Daisy and Owen’s
story.
2) Are there any parts of LURE or SEDUCTION’S KISS you drew
from real life?
I tend to set a lot of my books in New Orleans because it’s
where I went to college. As a result I often weave places and experiences into
my stories. In writing Seduction’s Kiss, I pulled from my memories of Halloween
in New Orleans.
There are some scenes in Lure that take place at an
abandoned amusement park. It’s a place I went to on a date with my husband
during college. Of course it wasn’t abandoned at the time, but there was
something eerie about comparing the photos of us smiling at the park with the
ones of complete desolation that I found while researching the book.
3) I know this is a little early to ask, but what is the
next book in The Allure Chronicles going to focus on?
Lust (The Allure Chronicles #2) will focus on Daisy and Owen
as they search for a way to take on the challenge they face at the end of Lure.
4) What is your favorite genre/category to write in right
now?
Picking a favorite is always hard, but I absolutely love
writing NA Paranormal Romance. There’s just something about the combination of
the NA age range and voice with paranormal elements that I can’t get enough of.
The Allure Chronicles is my fourth NA Paranormal Romance series.
5) You write Romance with a Twist. What is the biggest,
non-spoilery twist you can tell us about LURE?
Finding Owen is only the beginning for Daisy. Things are
going to get crazier.
6) Who are the Allures?
The Allures as a group predate nearly all other paranormal
creatures.They are called Allures because they’re incredibly alluring,and this
allure allows them to use their power.
7) Will you be doing any signings or events in the coming
months?
I’ll be at the Roanoke Author Invasion (Roanoke, VA) on
April 11th
and the Carolina Book Fest (Charlotte, NC) on August 15th-

Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your
roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she
reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my
advice:
1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire's nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero
Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when
no one believes you that he exists.

Lure, the first in the Allure Chronicles, starts off with such intrigue and mystery that I was eagerly awaiting to find out just what was held in these pages...
Daisy is hell bent on finding Owen and those reasons are shown to us in the prequel Seduction's Kiss...Having read that, it did prepare me for Lure but there was still soooo much hidden to me.
So, we are on this journey with Daisy when she runs in to a trio that pull her in to their group and automatically cause more questions to be asked than answered...
I felt completely frustrated because so much was like...you'll find out later...Gah...
I really enjoyed the concept for which Alyssa Rose Ivy wrote about...it definitely took on a different feel and after reading so much paranormal, it was refreshing to discover something new and unique...
It was a fast read that kept me hanging on...waiting to see if Daisy found Owen and what secrets would be unveiled.
Let me say this...WOW..I did not expect how this would end and it leaves me excited for book 2!!
