SENTINEL BLOG TOUR: Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trainedSentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Well, mostly. When she's not hard at work writing, she spends her time, reading, working out, watching zombie movies, and pretending to write.

I have been wanting to start this book for and series for a while now and the poor thing has just been sitting in my kindle waiting on me.  Well, with the tour for Sentinel open, I knew I needed to jump on and found the perfect opportunity to read Half-Blood.
I absolutely love Jennifer Armentrout. The Lux series is one of my all time favorite series so I had no worries when starting Half-Blood on whether I would enjoy the book.
So, I dove in and am met with action packed drama as Alex is literally running for her life.  She is young, snarky, strong-willed, and you can already see she has lots to learn about self control.  Yeah, the makings of a fabulous novel for sure.
But, that wasn't all that showed me this was going to be fabulous...Insert the ever so HOT Aiden and now we are BLAZING the pages with heat!!! And this man totally captured my heart from the very beginning...Whew...I need to catch my breath....My heart is just a fluttering thinking about him.. *sighs*
Anyway, with such awesome characters and an immediate enchantment to this book, I have to say I was a little taken aback when the more I read, the more I felt similarities to another book I had read before.  I couldn't stop seeing them and ultimately comparing the novels.  It was heavily distracting and almost made me not want to continue.
BUT.....
True to Jennifer's brilliance, things changed.  The similarities faded out and Half-Blood became its own book to me.
The story of Alex and the life she has to endure is intriguing and captivating.  I was enthralled by the well-developed characters and was totally biting my nails at the suspenseful action packed thrills.
The moments of humor, angst, tears, and passion provided for the emotional distress that accompanies Jennifer's books and of course as soon as I finished I jumped right in to Pure; causing the snowball effect devouring this series.
As I await the release of Sentinel, Apollyon keeps me company...THANK GOODNESS for that...
All I can say now is...
READ THIS SERIES!!!!!
